Too Young... again! Jaw-dropping AI technology sees Donny Osmond aged 67 chatting to his 14-year-old self - and the pair will now DUET together in Vegas
First there were ABBA avatars, then it was computerised KISS. Now digital Donny is taking to the stage.
Donny Osmond has followed the CGI concert trend and announced he will be performing with his 14-year-old self.
The 67-year-old singer revealed the addition to his show, which has been running for three years, on Instagram, saying: ‘I have a new co-star at my Las Vegas residency. Thanks to some mind-blowing AI and CGI technology, I’m going to be talking and singing with Donny Osmond – you know, the one from 1972.’
He then shared a preview of the show which featured an exchange between the present-day Osmond and his digital younger self – who is the age at which he had his first solo hit, Sweet and Innocent.
‘Here’s a sample of what you might see,’ he said, before a clip played in which the two debate who the ‘real’ Donny is. When older Donny asked, ‘What does it feel like to sing with yourself 50 years in the future?’ the younger version said, ‘Well, it’s kind of like singing with my grandpa.’ ABBA started their virtual concert residency in 2021, which depicted the group as they were in 1979, and it has proved a phenomenal success, generating a £1.4billion economic boost for the UK.

Donny Osmond has followed the CGI concert trend and announced he will be performing with his 14-year-old self.
Accompanied by a ten-piece live band, the concerts are held in ABBA Arena, a purpose-built venue in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
It uses vocals re-recorded by the group in a Swedish studio specifically for this show. Rock band KISS announced in 2023 they would be doing the same after their virtual avatars launched into song during an encore at one of their live shows.
Osmond has been a longtime proponent of AI’s role in entertainment.
Last year he told Fox News: ‘AI is a tool, not a substitute... I love what it can do for me as a producer, as an artist. As a tool, and that’s it.’
