This Morning viewers threatened to 'switch off' their TVs in horror after a woman made a surprising admission on the daytime show.
Lovisa Dahl, 39, featured as a guest on the ITV programme today and shared her childbirth story with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.
The mother-of-three revealed she experienced an 'orgasmic birth' after watching a documentary about the concept and becoming intrigued by the idea.
'In my first birth I didn't, I had a very beautiful home birth, 22 hours... it was very beautiful, I wouldn't call it orgasmic,' Louisa shared.
For her second birth, Louisa explained how she started to 'investigate' the possibility more and said: 'I had the most ecstatic birth, it felt like a cosmic orgasm, or an energy orgasm, or this totally ecstatic state where you're just one with everything.
'Like a oneness experience, but it wasn't a physical orgasm.'
Lovisa Dahl, 39, shared her childbirth experience on today's episode of This Morning
She shared how she had an 'ecstatic' childbirth and discussed the topic with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley and midwife Marley Hall, right
She explained she 'didn't use any stimulation of intimate parts' during her second birth due to her mother-in-law and daughter being present.
However, for her third birth Lovisa said she 'was preparing more with sexual pleasure' and with the help of her husband.
She said by focusing on 'pleasurable sensations' she didn't notice the pain of childbirth so much.
Midwife of 16 years, Marley Hall, also joined in with the discussion on This Morning and said: 'I've never actually witnessed anyone have an orgasm whilst I'm helping them have their baby.'
But she did admit that 'one or two' had told her afterwards during home visits adding, 'but I think it's something that probably most people wouldn't disclose because there might be some shame around it'.
Marley explained what Louisa and others experienced is the increase in oxytocin which can help to reduce pain in some people.
When Ben mentioned that people may find it 'distasteful', Louisa responded: 'It's a taboo topic I think we need to remember that birth is part of the female sexuality in the same way as menstruation is, or menopause, giving birth is sexual.'
However, some people didn't seem to enjoy the discussion and even took to X to say they were going to turn their television off.

One posted, 'I'm off' while another said, 'This is so not a suitable topic for lunchtime tv, I’m not at all prudish but ffs!'
Someone else said, 'OMFG had to turn off' and one viewer chimed in, 'Time to turn over'.
It comes after yesterday's show featured a 72-year-old escort, Caroline, and hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were lost for words after she recounted what she got up to with a male companion while enjoying some alone time together.
After being a devoted Christian 40 years, Caroline, AKA the Busty Granny, decided to abandon her faith and turn to sex work.
The escort stepped away from religion and after going on a date with a younger man, they went back to a hotel and got intimate.
Caroline, who is on Olivia Attwood's new series of Getting Filthy Rich, confessed: 'We got on really well, we went to the hotel and we did oral - which I had never done before.'
And the presenters were totally lost for words at how honest she was.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1 from 10am and is available to stream on ITVX.
