Singer Seal transformed into an actual Seal for a bizarre new Mountain Dew Super Bowl advert alongside fellow performer Becky G

The songwriter, 61, joined forces with the American singer and actress, 27, to star in a a very memorable promotion for the soft drink brand's new Baha Blast flavour.

And Seal - real name Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel - proved his humour was as on point as his vocal skills as he appeared as his namesake animal for the hilarious skit - which is set to air during the Super Bowl on February 9.

The advert, which was shared to Instagram on Wednesday, sees Shower hitmaker Becky chilling in her kitchen when a man dressed in a fluffy green coat and shades slides over and offers her a Mountain Dew Baha Blast.

Becky then takes a sip before suddenly being transported to a tropical island and deposited into a speed boat with other travellers.

The beauty remarked: 'Refreshing', as the green-clad man boasted about the drink before steering the boat toward a large rock covered with a pod of seals.

At that moment, the tune of Seal's 1994 hit song Kiss From A Rose begins to play, before the camera then zooms in on a large seal at the top of the rock.

It then shows the seal with the singer's face digitally imposed on the marine mammal before it then bursts into a rendition of the popular song.

However, the lyrics have been altered to reflect the promotion of Mountain Dew, with Seal the seal singing: 'Baby, I compare it to a kiss from a lime on the bay. Ooh the more I think of it, it's strange I'm a seal, yeah.

'My flippers can't hold Mountain Dew, it slips right on through, what a shame'.

The quirky commercial then continues, showing the fins of killer whales ominously circling the speedboat while Becky and the others look on in fear.

But then Seal continues his song, with his high note soon driving the killer whales away.

Watching the scenes, Becky then adds: 'Well, this is the weirdest thing I've ever seen!'

And while the bizarre advert no doubt left many scratching their heads and raising their eyebrows, several others were loving what they watched, with one even remarking it was 'the best thing I've ever seen'.
