US moves to block Nvidia AI chip sales to Chinese firms outside China
Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Transportation & Logistics and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.13%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.94%, and the TecDAX index added 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 5.38% or 8.45 points to trade at 165.65 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) added 4.00% or 2.76 points to end at 71.78 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) was up 3.81% or 6.90 points to 188.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which lost 3.83% or 6.94 points to trade at 174.36 in late trade. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 3.23% or 1.84 points to end at 55.18 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) shed 2.28% or 0.86 points to 36.93.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 8.42% to 57.20, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was up 6.19% to settle at 29.86 and Aumovio Se (ETR:AMV0n) which gained 5.39% to close at 40.10.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.01% to 41.22 in late trade, TKMS GmbH (ETR:TKMS) which lost 2.87% to settle at 81.20 and IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which was down 2.47% to 26.84 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 8.42% to 57.20, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 2.94% to settle at 15.78 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which gained 1.89% to close at 31.24.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 3.97% to 93.20 in late trade, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which lost 3.05% to settle at 90.45 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.01% to 41.22 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 365 to 260 and 25 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.64% to 19.55.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.45% or 65.91 to $4,469.09 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.92% or 3.68 to hit $90.21 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.20% or 3.09 to trade at $93.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 99.17.
