Microsoft Powerpoint
Microsoft PowerPoint is a software application used for creating and delivering presentations.
It is part of the Microsoft Office suite and allows users to design slides with text, images,
graphics, charts, videos, and animations to convey information visually.
Common Uses of PowerPoint:
Business presentations (e.g., project updates, reports).
Educational slideshows (e.g., lessons, tutorials).
Marketing and sales presentations (e.g., product pitches, client proposals).
Public speaking and conferences.
Presentation Application
A Presentation Application is a software tool used to create and display digital slideshows for
sharing information visually. These applications allow users to combine text, images, videos,
animations, charts, and graphics on individual slides that can be displayed sequentially during a
presentation.

Creating and saving presentation
1. Open the Application
Open Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or any other presentation app.
2. Choose a Template
File → New → Select a pre-designed template or Blank Presentation.

3. Add Slides
Home → New Slide or press Ctrl + M (Windows) / Cmd + M (Mac).
Choose slide layouts (like Title Slide, Title & Content, etc.).
4. Add Content
Text: Click inside text boxes to type titles, subtitles, and body content.
Images & Media: Insert → Pictures, Videos, or Audio.
Charts & Tables: Insert → Chart or Table
5. Apply Design & Transitions
Design tab: Choose a theme or customize slide background, colors, and fonts.
Transitions tab: Add slide transitions (like Fade, Wipe, etc.) for smooth movement
between slides.
6. Add Animations
Animations tab: Add animations to text, images, or objects on the slide.
7. Review & Finalize
Check for spelling errors (Review tab → Spelling).
Preview the slideshow using Slide Show tab → From Beginning.

8. Save & Export
File → Save As (choose location) or Export as PDF, PPT, or Video.
Applying template
1. Apply a Template to a New Presentation
Open PowerPoint.
Click File → New.
Browse or search for a template from the available options.
Select the desired template and click Create.
Customize the template by adding text, images, and other content
2. Apply a Template to an Existing Presentation
Open your existing PowerPoint file.
Go to the Design tab.
Click More (▼) in the Themes section.
Select Browse for Themes at the bottom of the list.
Choose a template file (.potx or .pptx) from your computer.
Click Apply to apply the new template to your existing slides.

3. Customize the Template
Use the Design tab to adjust slide layouts, colors, fonts, and backgrounds.
Apply Slide Master (View → Slide Master) to edit global styles for all slides
Design slide
1. Choose a Slide Layout
Go to Home tab → Layout → Choose a layout (e.g., Title Slide, Title & Content, etc.).
2. Apply a Theme
Go to Design tab → Select a theme from the available options.
Customize the theme using Variants (color, fonts, effects) from the same tab.
3. Add Background Style
Design tab → Format Background.
Choose Solid Fill, Gradient Fill, Picture, or Texture as your background.
4. Add Text & Content
Click on a text box and type your content.
Insert images, shapes, charts, or tables via the Insert tab.
5. Apply Transitions & Animations
Go to Transitions tab → Select a transition (like Fade, Wipe, etc.) for slide changes.
Go to Animations tab → Apply animations to text, images, or objects.
6. Use Slide Master (Optional)
View tab → Slide Master.
Edit the master slide to make consistent design changes across all slides.
7. Preview & Finalize
Go to Slide Show tab → From Beginning to preview the presentation.

Animation on slide
Animation on a slide refers to the movement or visual effects applied to objects (like text,
images, shapes, or charts) within a PowerPoint slide. Animations make the content appear,
disappear, move, or change in creative ways, enhancing engagement and visual appeal.
How to Add Animation to a Slide
1: Select the Object (text, image, or shape) on the slide.
2: Go to the Animations tab → Choose an animation from the list (like Fade, Fly In, etc.).
3: Customize the Animation:
Use the Effect Options to adjust the direction, speed, or duration.
4: Preview the Animation:
Click Preview to see how it looks.

Inserting hyperlink, slide number, date and time

1.1. Select the Text or Object
Highlight the text or click on the object (like an image, shape, or button) where you
want to insert the hyperlink.
1.2. Insert the Hyperlink
Right-click on the selected text/object → Link or Hyperlink (or press Ctrl + K on
Windows / Cmd + K on Mac).
1.3. Add the Link
In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, type or paste the URL in the Address field
(e.g., [Link]
Alternatively, select Place in This Document to link to another slide or Email
Address to create a mail link.
1.4. Apply & Test
Click OK to apply the hyperlink.
Ctrl + Click on the hyperlink during the slideshow to test it.

2.1. Open the PowerPoint Presentation
Open your presentation in PowerPoint.
2.2. Go to the Insert Tab
Click on the Insert tab in the top menu.
2.3. Insert Slide Number
In the Text group, click Slide Number.
The Header and Footer dialog box will appear.
2.4. Enable Slide Numbers
Check the box next to Slide number.
If you don’t want the number on the title slide, check Don't show on title slide.
5. Apply to All Slides
Click Apply to All to add the slide number to all slides in the presentation.

3.1. Insert Date and Time on a Slide
Go to the Insert tab.
Click Date & Time in the Text group.
In the dialog box, check the box next to Date and Time.
Select the format you prefer (e.g., Day, Month, Year or Time).
Choose whether you want it to update automatically by selecting Update
automatically (to reflect the current date and time).
Click Apply (to apply to the selected slide) or Apply to All (to apply to all slides).
3.2. Manually Edit Date and Time
After inserting, you can click on the text box and edit the date and time manually if you
don't want it to update automatically.
Slide Transaction
Slide Transition refers to the visual effect that occurs when you move from one slide to the next
during a PowerPoint presentation. It determines how the current slide exits and how the next
slide enters the screen, creating a dynamic and engaging flow for your presentation.
How to Apply a Slide Transition:
Go to the Transitions tab in PowerPoint.
Select a slide you want to apply the transition to.
Choose a transition from the available options.
Customize the transition's duration and effect options (if needed).
Click Apply To All to use the same transition for all slides.

Master Slides
Master Slides in PowerPoint
refer to a set of slides that
define the overall design,
layout, and style for the
entire presentation. They
allow you to make consistent
changes to multiple slides at
once, such as adjusting
fonts,colors, backgrounds,
and logos, without needing to
manually edit each slide
individually.
How to Use Master
Slides:
[Link] to the View tab → Click Slide [Link] the Slide Master:
In the Slide Master view, select the first (topmost) master slide to edit global elements
(background, fonts, colors, etc.).
You can also edit individual layouts below the master slide for specific slide types (e.g.,
Title Slide, Content Slide).

Once you're done editing, click Close Master View in the Slide Master tab to return to
your regular slides.
Slides printing
Slide Printing in
PowerPoint refers to the
process of printing the
slides from a presentation,
either in full-page format
or in smaller formats for
handouts. You can print
slides as images, in notes
view (with speaker notes),
or in handout format
(multiple slides per page).

How to Print Slides in PowerPoint:

Select the printer you want to use.

Under Settings, you can choose how to print your slides:
Full Page Slides (one slide per page).
Handouts: Choose the number of slides you want per page (e.g., 2, 4, 6, 9 slides).
Notes Pages: Includes speaker notes along with the slides.
Outline View: Prints the presentation's text without slides.
