What is PowerPoint?
Microsoft PowerPoint is a software product used to perform presentations. Used to quickly and easily create presentations for many purposes, including lectures, research reports, meeting handouts and agendas, speaker introductions, and flyers.
The view to use when you are designing a presentation slide by slide.

Inserting Slides
Click the Home tab on the Ribbon and click the New Slide button in the Slides group.
Press <Ctrl> + <M>, or right-click a slide on the Slides tab in the Outline pane and select New Slide from the contextual menu.

Select a layout
Click the Home tab on the Ribbon and click the Layout button in the Slides group, or On the Slides tab in the Outline pane, right-click the slide whose layout you want to change. Select Layout from the contextual menu and select a layout from the list

DELETE A SLIDE Click the Home tab on the Ribbon and click the Delete button in the Slides group, or On the Slides tab in the Outline pane, select the slide you want to delete and press <Delete>.

Background
Choosing an appropriate background for a presentation is like picking out wrapping paperits the first thing your audience is going to notice. 1. Click the Design tab on the Ribbon, select the desired Themes and click the Background Styles button in the Background group. 2. Click the background you want to apply.

Hyperlink
1. 2. 3. 4. Select the text or symbol to be used as hyperlink. Select INSERT tab, then HYPERLINK. Choose the necessary options for your hyperlink. Click OK.

Slide Animation
An animation effect is a preset visual effect that can be applied to the text or objects on a slide.
1. Select the text or object that you want to animate. 2. Click the Animations tab on the Ribbon and click the Animate list arrow in the Animations group. 3. A list of preset animation effects appears. 4. Select an animation effect from the list.

Selecting Custom Animation, will display the Custom Animation in the task pane.

Slide Transitions
A transition is an animation that occurs when PowerPoint advances from one slide to the next during a slide show. PowerPoint offers more than 40 different transition effects for you to choose from.
1. Select the slide you want to add a transition effect to. 2. Click the Animations tab on the Ribbon and click the More button in the Transition to This Slide group. 3. Select a transition effect from the gallery.

Printing a Slide
Select File - Print
1. Print range (All, Current slide, Slides) 2. Copies check the Collate box if necessary. 3. Print What Slides prints a full-page slide on each page. Handouts prints as many slides as you designate on each page. Notes Page prints one slide with that slide's notes on each page Outline view prints the outline of the presentation 4. Click OK to print.
