mise ls-remote

  • Usage: mise ls-remote [FLAGS] [TOOL@VERSION] [PREFIX]
  • Aliases: list-all, list-remote
  • Effect: read-only
  • Source code: src/cli/ls_remote.rs

List tool versions available to install

Results may be cached; run mise cache clear TOOL to refresh one tool before querying it again. Version formats and ordering are backend-specific.

Arguments

  • [TOOL@VERSION] — Tool to get versions for
  • [PREFIX] — Version prefix to filter by; same as TOOL@PREFIX

Flags

  • --all — List available versions for every tool mise currently knows about

  • --minimum-release-age <AGE> — Only show versions released before a date or at least a duration ago

Takes a date such as 2024-06-01 or a duration such as 90d or 1y. Overrides the minimum_release_age setting and tool option.

  • -J --json — Output in JSON format, with metadata such as created_at when available

  • --no-versions-host — Fetch versions from the tool's upstream instead of mise's version mirror

Same as use_versions_host = false for this command.

  • --prerelease — Include prerelease versions

Works for backends that report prerelease metadata or detect prereleases by pattern. Same as MISE_PRERELEASES=1 or the prereleases setting, for this command only.

  • --strict-metadata — Exit with an error when release metadata cannot be fetched

Without it, backends such as aqua and ruby fall back to a version list without release dates, or an empty one. Requires --json and --no-versions-host.

  • -h --help — Print help
