  • Over the last two years, billions have been poured into GenAI, but moving from pilots to business-critical applications has revealed the structural hurdle of a latency wall. In The State of AI Inference, we surveyed 200 senior AI practitioners to understand why so many projects are stalling. The truth is, enterprise architecture isn’t evolving as fast as AI use cases. Key findings from the report include: • 50% of AI architects and engineers cite peak load latency as the top threat to AI performance. • 64% of enterprises now require sub-250 ms response times, but centralized clouds struggle to hit these benchmarks. • While 60% of experts agree proximity to the end user is vital for success, 46% remain tethered to a single cloud region. The next phase of the AI boom won’t be defined by who has the most GPUs but by who can successfully distribute intelligence to the edge. Your AI strategy is only as viable as the infrastructure it runs on. Download the full report to view more survey results: https://ow.ly/FnUm50YSZHT

  • They’re baaaack! Father-daughter duo Ryan Barnett and Isabella Barnett return to our lineup at Black Hat 2026. The collaborative pair will share critical new research that redefines how we approach character encoding vulnerabilities in modern applications. Add their session to your agenda! Beyond Normalization: The Expanding Unicode Attack Surface will examine: • Why Unicode is no longer just a normalization issue, but an architectural attack surface and a distributed parsing vulnerability class • How diverging assumptions in layered processing pipelines cause critical security boundaries to fail • Real-world exploitation pathways Don’t miss this session on Thursday, August 6! https://ow.ly/8eb650Zv3YI

  • Giving Back in Action 💙🎓 A group of Akamai volunteers visited local technical schools to connect with students specializing in Cybersecurity, Computer Networking, and Telecommunications. ☎️ Through sessions on CDN, Cybersecurity, robotics activities, and employability, the #AkamaiCostaRica Team shared knowledge, motivation, and real-world insights, all with one goal: to bring Akamai closer to students and support their future journeys. This outreach initiative, led by the Giving Back and STEM pillars, reached 70 students and created meaningful connections that will continue to grow through future community engagement. 🧬

  • Honored to share that our early-career program was selected as one of the Top 20 winners in Abode’s inaugural Early-Career Engagement Awards! 🎉 This recognition celebrates the work our team does to create a thoughtful experience for candidates from the moment they accept their offer through their internship or full-time journey. It's an often-overlooked window, but one that can make all the difference. 💙 We're especially proud to have been recognized for our work across all five categories: Community Building, Internship-to-Full-Time Conversion, Keep-Warm Strategies, Mentorship & Buddy Programs, and Preventing Reneges. 🏆 If you'd like to learn more about our approach, you can read our spotlight here: https://ow.ly/jUU950ZobcC 🔗 Thank you, Abode, for the recognition! ✨

  • Today, Akamai joins NVIDIA, The Linux Foundation, and more than 50 technology leaders as an expanded founding member of the Open Secure AI Alliance. The announcement follows a major security incident at Hugging Face, which exposed the limits of closed security platforms. As AI-driven cyberattacks reach machine speed, defenders can't afford to wait for third-party permission to act. Securing the digital ecosystem requires open source models that security teams can inspect, modify, and run directly at the edge. Akamai's Mani Sundaram explains why open defense stacks are critical to the future of global cybersecurity: https://lnkd.in/eGC-n_CM

  • What started as a bi-weekly wellness initiative has become one of our favorite traditions at #AkamaiIreland. 💙🎾 Every second Friday, our Dublin team swaps desks for the padel court: getting active, enjoying some friendly competition, and, most importantly, spending time together. One of the best things about padel? It's for everyone. Whether you're picking up a racket for the first time or you're already a regular on the court, it's easy to learn, fun to play, and the perfect excuse to connect with colleagues outside of the day-to-day. Here's to many more matches, laughs, and Fridays on the court! 💪
