Great product, but a few things...

The product was the same quality as advertised on the web page.
The box was delayed and damaged/crushed upon arrival, which might have been because it was checked by Danish customs.
The sunglasses had no tags or label so they could easily be tried on.
However, there was adhesive on one sides from a label which was a bit disappointing for such an expensive pair of sunglasses. This is why I did not rate it 5 starts.
I did not return my order and had no contact with customer service.
I would definitely shop there again.

Don't buy eyeglasses from Miinto unless…

Don't buy eyeglasses from Miinto unless you have already tried them on and know they fit.

I just bought a pair of eyeglasses on miinto.dk for 2.000 DKK but when they arrived they had a massive clunky yellow plastic tag attached to the bridge (the part that rests on your nose) of the glasses that if removed would make the glasses non-returnable.

The tag measures 10 cm x 2,5 cm and sits right down in the middle of your face making it impossible to evaluate how the glasses look and fit. Since the tag is attached to the bridge you also can't test how they feel or function with the shape of your nose.

Trying glasses is obviously both about how they look and how they feel/function and since I couldn't test any of those aspects I contacted Support.

They said I wasn't allowed to remove the tag if I wanted to keep the option of returning the glasses if they didn't fit. Unable to test, I was left with no other option than returning them.

However, they charge a 79 DKK return fee and Support basically didn't care that I couldn't try them on and wouldn't offer a free refund no matter the above issue. They said it's their standard practice which they won't change.

Charging 79 DKK for a return is of course OK and also stated on the website. However, it doesn't say anywhere that glasses come with this big plastic tag hindering a proper evaluation. It should of course say so next to the item before you place an order otherwise a return fee is not fair.

Since they don't intend to inform customers of this in the buying process, I'll write it here for people to know.

Now I'll go throw the 79 DKK refund fee out the window and waste at least an hour with wrapping, printing labels and traveling to the far-away UPS pickup location. What a lousy experience Miinto but at least, for me, it will for sure be a one-off encounter.

Normally great service, but …

Normally, the service is very good and the prices are competitive. My boyfriend bought me a pair of sunglasses as a birthday gift using a 25% discount code. Unfortunately, the sunglasses had to be returned under warranty because the temples were extremely stiff.

Without any communication, Miinto simply refunded the purchase amount. The intention was to have the sunglasses repaired or replaced with a new pair. Of course, receiving a refund is fine, but I actually wanted the sunglasses.

Now our only option is to buy the same sunglasses again, but at a higher price. Miinto refuses to issue a new discount code that would allow us to purchase them at the same price my boyfriend originally paid. Very disappointing customer service.

Balenciaga claim rejected after less than 2 months

This case concerns a pair of Balenciaga Lavtop Sneakers, a top-designer product with a new retail price of approximately 7,500 DKK. Even though I bought them at a discounted price, that does not change the expected quality level of the item.

The shoes developed cracking and splitting in the outer synthetic/coated material on both shoes within less than 2 months of ownership and after only light normal everyday use. In my view, that is not normal wear for a product at this price and quality level.

I followed Miinto’s complaint process, returned the shoes for inspection using their return label, and cooperated fully throughout. The complaint was then rejected with a very short and generic explanation stating only that the damage was “mechanical damage” caused by abrasion and friction between the laces and the upper.

That explanation was not convincing. It did not contain any real technical reasoning, no meaningful analysis of why identical damage on both shoes after such a short period should be treated as ordinary wear, and no transparent description of how the assessment was made.

From a customer perspective, Miinto mainly acted as an intermediary while the actual decision appears to have been left entirely to the partner boutique. That meant there was no clear, independent, or balanced review from Miinto itself. In practice, Miinto.dk felt more like a forwarding layer than a responsible seller taking ownership of the complaint.

This is especially problematic because Miinto’s own terms say that statutory consumer rights remain unaffected, while EU consumer rules provide a minimum 2-year legal guarantee and require sellers to handle faulty goods fairly through repair, replacement, or refund where appropriate.

Overall, the handling of this claim was poor. The process was weak, the reasoning was inadequate, and the outcome was not fair or properly substantiated.

You are still missing the central point.

Yes, this Balenciaga 3XL model has an intentional distressed / pre-worn design. That is exactly why it is so important not to confuse the designed finish with an actual material failure.

My complaint is not about the aesthetic “used” look of the shoe. My complaint is that the outer synthetic overlays cracked and split on both shoes in less than 60 days and after only light normal use.

A shoe that is designed to look worn is not the same as a shoe that should physically fail after less than two months.

That distinction matters even more here because this is a premium designer product with a normal retail price of around 7,500 DKK. Even if I bought the pair at a discount, the expected durability and quality level do not disappear.

What makes this especially frustrating as a consumer is that your original rejection was extremely brief and generic, and your public reply only adds detail after I had to escalate the matter publicly with a 1-star review. From my perspective, that does not reflect serious or fair complaint handling.

You also say that Miinto acts as the responsible seller, but in practice the decision still appears to rest on the partner boutique’s assessment. That is exactly why the process feels weak from a consumer perspective: Miinto presents itself as responsible, while the actual outcome feels outsourced.

So the issue remains simple:

* distressed design is not the complaint
* cracking and splitting on both shoes in under 60 days is the complaint
* for a product at this price level, that should not be dismissed as ordinary friction or normal wear without a far more convincing and accountable explanation

At this stage, I still consider the handling inadequate and the rejection unconvincing.

After reviewing your case, our Guarantee Claims Team rejected the complaint because the observed cracking and splitting on the synthetic overlays was assessed as mechanical damage from normal friction (particularly near the laces) and consistent with the intentional distressed/pre-worn design of the Balenciaga 3XL silhouette. However, I acknowledge that the initial explanation you received was quite brief and could have been more detailed.

Unacceptable delivery service by UPS

Sometimes they use UPS for delivery. UPS has no problem lying about trying to deliver at an adress. Instead they dump the delivery off at a pickup point despite this not being the agreement.

6 February. Thank you Miinto for taking the time to respond here on my review. I acknowledge your intention of taking it up with UPS. Seeing that this is not the first incident I've had with delivery from you by UPS I will for now look for other retailers that do not use UPS. After all, you are responsible for picking your delivery service and it is clear to me that UPS is no longer trustworthy in Denmark.

very bad

I wanted to return the purchased items and created a return on 2 january. The label was supposed to be created automatically and be sent to me. It never did. After struggling to contact someone alive and not chat bot I was promised yesterday on 8 january that i will receive the return label within 24 hours as they will have to create it manually. It never happened. I contacted them again today on 9 january and they say they will create it as soon as possible. it all sounds weird because return labels usually get created automatically in such online companies. when i ask via which shipping company it will be created, they say they don't know as it will be done manually. i'm very much unsure that i will ever get my money returned, especially after having read all the reviews here. i should have read the feedback from trustpilot before purchasing anything from there.

Avoid at all cost – absolute nightmare

Avoid at all cost. Absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with in my life, and an absolute nightmare experience with harsh life lessons.

In my experience, they completely disregard EU consumer rights (e.g. EU Directive 2011/83/EU), their own return rules, and their own promises. Their customer “service” bot is the friendliest part of the whole experience – the human agents do not try to help you at all, quite the opposite.

I even feel sick knowing I bought another size of the same jacket from them. It is still in mint condition with all tags attached, but I would never dare to send it back. I also don’t feel comfortable wearing it anymore, because the whole experience just disgusts me.

This happened: I bought an expensive Stone Island jacket via Miinto, tried it on indoors only, and returned it within the legal return period with all tags and accessories attached. Later they claimed the jacket was “dirty” and “returned without tags”, refused my refund, and never provided a proper inspection report. I have supplied extensive photo and documentation evidence to Miinto, but I feel this has been completely ignored in the way my case has been handled. While my dispute is still ongoing via Klarna and the European Consumer Centre (ECC), the seller has now even sent the disputed jacket back to me against my wishes.

In addition to the dispute via Klarna and the ECC, I have also filed a report with the police because of how serious this situation feels to me as a consumer.

Please pay a little more elsewhere and avoid Miinto at all cost!

Defective product + refusal to follow EU consumer law

I bought a pair of sandals through Miinto, and after only a few weeks of light indoor use, the glue and cork started coming apart. I reported the issue immediately with clear photos.

Miinto rejected the claim, saying the “boutique” refused it — even though under EU consumer law the seller (Miinto) is responsible for handling defects, not the partner boutique. Any defect within 12 months is legally presumed to have existed at delivery unless the seller can prove otherwise. Miinto provided no evidence, no investigation, and no proper assessment.

I had expected Miinto to follow basic consumer rights, but instead they passed responsibility to the boutique and refused to help. This is not acceptable customer service or legal compliance.

I cannot recommend Miinto based on this experience.

This store is extremely bad

This store is extremely bad. On November 10th, the customer service sent me an email saying that the goods would be dispatched within two working days. It's already been three days, and I still haven't received the email confirming the dispatch on November 13th. On the same day, miinto sent me an email saying that DHL express might delay the delivery. miinto promised to dispatch the goods within two days, but it was only on the third day that they said they would let DHL pick up the package for dispatch. But later, miinto said that DHL might delay the delivery of my package. miinto is really an irresponsible company!! It was already late for DHL to pick up the package, which caused the delivery of my package by DHL to be delayed as well!! It's not punctual at all!!!

Absolutely the worst customer service

Absolutely the worst customer service. They lost one of my orders and been “investigating” it for two months. And I returned another order that according to DHL was received nine days ago by Miinto- no communication and no refund. Emailed them twice - no reply. Seriously?

Poor product quality and no customer service response

I bought a pair of Tod’s shoes from Miinto. After only a few weeks of normal use, the sole already had a hole, a clear sign of poor quality or a manufacturing defect.

I contacted Miinto’s customer service on October 12, 2025, and received an automatic confirmation saying I would get a reply within seven business days. I followed up on October 21 but never received any response or solution.

As the company failed to address my complaint, I have filed a formal complaint with ECC France (European Consumer Centre).

It’s disappointing to see that such an issue is completely ignored. I expected at least a refund or exchange, but Miinto has shown no willingness to resolve the problem. Very poor customer service experience.
