Alexander McQueen

Lee Alexander McQueen founded his London label in 1992, the year Isabella Blow bought his entire Central Saint Martins graduate collection, and shows such as Highland Rape and Plato's Atlantis, along with the low-slung bumster trouser, made him fashion's great provocateur. Gucci Group, now Kering, took a majority stake in 2000. After McQueen's death in 2010, Sarah Burton led the house for 13 years; Seán McGirr has been creative director since 2023 and brought it back to London Fashion Week in September 2026.
