Cafe Regatta is a favorite restaurant because of its good food, service, and affordable Groupons. Without the Groupon, it will be very pricey.

Best online software transaction

This was the best online software transaction I ever experienced. I bought a refurbed PC and added the software stack from Groupon. Perfect execution all around.

What a scam, and I thought I was getting a great deal…

Beware of purchasing anything through Groupon. I thought I was getting a great deal when I saw an email from my Groupon subscription – it was an 'invite only' email for a Starbucks card. I went ahead and purchased it and only AFTER purchasing the deal did they provide a notification that the offer was only available in the U.S.

I am in Canada, the emails are being sent to me in Canada, my location in the Groupon account is in Canada, and yet I am not eligible to redeem the coupon that they sent directly to me in Canada!!! CRMs can identify where a user is located based on the account information and not send them emails for products they don’t qualify for. There is no excuse for this and they won't give me a refund either.

What a scam! Regardless of the fact that I should never have received that email, it should clearly say on the purchase page that the deal can only be redeemed in the U.S.

Who knows what other restrictions they put on purchases that you don't find out about until after you've purchased something. What a disappointment to say the least.

Customer service is terrible

Customer service is terrible. Sometimes merchants dont want to honor a groupon over customers coming in to book with them. Who does groupon listen to. Only one side thr merchants. Everyone knows merchants hate third party coupons. Groupon never refunds never does an accurate check. This is bad business im deleting my account 😤

I do not recommend Groupon

I do not recommend Groupon. In my experience, it's been more frustrating than helpful. I've purchased deals at what seemed like a discount, only to find that some merchants require additional purchases or upgrades before they'll honor the service as expected, especially with certain beauty services.

The refund policy is another major issue. After a certain amount of time, you can't get your money back, and if you do receive a refund, it's often issued as Groupon Bucks instead of being returned to your original payment method. Even when refunds are available, they aren't always for the full amount you paid.

You also have a limited time to use many Groupons before they expire or lose promotional value, which adds unnecessary pressure.

On top of that, Groupon takes a percentage of the merchant's earnings. You're often better off using Groupon to discover a business, then booking directly with that business. It can save you the hassle of dealing with Groupon's policies while allowing the business to keep more of the money.

Finally, I don't feel Groupon adequately vets all of its merchants. One of the worst beauty experiences I've ever had came from a Groupon purchase—I had my eyebrows done, and the service was so poor that it tore the skin around my eyebrows.

Overall, I'd rather book directly with businesses than use Groupon again.

I purchased a Groupon for a vendor that no longer wanted to work with Groupon. Instead of refunding me money, they refunded me in Groupon bucks . I wanted to use the Groupon bucks for Chuck E. Cheese and it says that Chuck E. Cheese does not allow Groupon bucks to be used. I would rather have my cash back and Groupon will not refund it. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Bad voucher issues and still no refund!!!

Horrible company! Wasn't always the case but something happened with Groupon as they went 180 on me. Wife and I booked an excursion in Miami and one of the vouchers they provided didnt work. We tried getting help on the phone with a real person which turned out to be impossible. So we made contact through chat on thier web site. And the rep said they will contact us the next day to process the refund which never happened. So I contact them through chat again the following day and they did a 180 and said i wont be getting a refund from them. They tried to push me off to the merchant which had nothing to do with Groupons bad voucher issued . Had to file a charge back with my CC. So there are now reported. Careful with them they wont honor a refund when clearly we havent been able to use the service and get what we paid for. Bad buisness practice IMHO. Stay far away.

Company is a SCAM!

Sad to have to write this especially after raving about Groupon. I will definitely delete the app and NEVER recommend Groupon to anyone else! I got coupons for canvas on sale. For 16x20. Well little did I know that they would actually be 20x16 which I specifically NEEDED 16x20. No where on canvas on sale does it EVEN HAVE AN OPTION FOR 16x20! HAD I KNOWN THAT TO BEGIN WITH I WOULD HAVE WENT TO EASY CANVAS PRINTS! Where it’s a breeze to deal with AND THEY WILL ACTUALLY OFFER 16x20!! IM SO UPSET IM OUT 86 something dollars and NO ONE CAME SEEM TO FIX THE ISSUE I NEED A REFUND AND IM CERTAINLY NOT SATISFIED and ultimately got RIPPED OFF! I have been in an automotive SCAM of a conversation with canvas on sale. With zero solutions provided! DO NOT USE GROUPON OR CANVAS ON SALE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING DISAPPOINTED!

WARNING

WARNING: Groupon refused a refund over a serious safety issue — “voucher marked as Redeemed” with 4 of 6 sessions unused.
I purchased a 6-session laser hair removal package through Groupon. At the facility, I was never provided laser-rated eye protection, and when I asked, staff gave me false safety information (told me the laser is “3D” so eye protection isn’t needed — the “3D” actually refers to the device’s three wavelengths and has nothing to do with eye safety).
I contacted Groupon support, explained the safety issue in detail, and requested a refund for the 4 unused sessions only. I was within 14 days of my last visit.
Groupon’s response: the voucher is “marked as Redeemed,” so no refund — even though only 2 of 6 sessions were used. They told me to go work it out with the merchant myself. The same merchant whose safety practices were the entire problem.
So Groupon’s position is: if a merchant on their platform gives customers false laser safety information and skips basic protective equipment, Groupon keeps the money and the customer’s only option is to negotiate with that same merchant. The “Groupon Promise” apparently doesn’t cover safety issues.
I ended up having to file a chargeback with my credit card company.
Buyer beware: once a multi-session voucher is scanned ONCE, Groupon considers the entire package “Redeemed” and washes their hands of it — no matter what happens at the business. For anything involving your health or safety, do not prepay through Groupon.

Paid for product nothing received. No customer support

I purchased a voucher from Groupon for a car air conditioning re-gas. I received nothing from them.

I was eventually able to find an order number but this was not loaded onto my account.

I was overcharged for the initial product which was showing as reduced when I bought it but I still have nothing.

The web site does not offer any telephone support for users and you can only access the live chat if you can select the product you have purchased.

I have now spent hours trying to get my product or a refund without success and am totally frustrated with the poor service and inability to contact the company.

Con artists. Actually Encourage dishonesty.

I purchased 3 PRP treatments with the one puchase. When I went to my first appointment I realised the woman was using a single syringe instead of the 9 to 64 microneedling machine.

After explaing my situation to groupons AI I got this person: Hello Ann-Marie, and thanks for waiting! 😊 I’m Balaji, and I’ve joined the chat to assist you. I’m reviewing the previous conversation now and will be right with you. In the meantime, feel free to share any additional details.

I completely understand why you're so frustrated and upset about this, Ann-Marie. It is incredibly disappointing to invest in a treatment package like medical PRP, only to find out during your first session that the merchant doesn't even have the proper microneedling equipment advertised. As per the deal terms, No refunds will be issued for missed appointments or unused sessions.

I would like to offer you an exclusive promo code that’s valid for the next 7 days—perfect for saving on your next Groupon purchase. Your code: BKQZ6HTR — Get up to 20% off on eligible local deals, with a maximum discount of £50 per voucher. Validity: Valid until Jul 20, 2026

Exclusions: Not applicable on deals that include the restriction “Offer is not eligible for promo codes or discounts” on deal page. Just enter the code at checkout when purchasing an eligible deal to enjoy the discount.

Do they really think I would purchase anything else from them? They are all about the money. They aren't for me. I treat people the way I want to be treated and worry about other unsuspecting victim. I guarantee I will hold them accountable. That means anyone can advertise what I don't sell and be covered by Groupon. Watch this space. I create paths I don't follow them.
