Refunds and cancellation
These documents are templates under review. They are not legal advice. Provider details follow once the company is registered.
Template, not in force. Billing for the Link Checker cloud plans is closed. Nothing can be bought or charged today, and this page applies only once billing opens with the first release. The refund window in section 3 is a proposal that the owner has to confirm before billing opens. This is not legal advice.
1. Who this covers
This policy covers the paid cloud plans of the Ambolt Link Checker (Site, Pro, Agency and Agency+). It does not cover the free WordPress plugin, the free online check or the free plan, which cost nothing. Developer endpoints paid per call in USDC and Apify Actors billed per event follow the payment terms in the terms of use and the platform's own rules.
2. Who sells and who refunds
Paid plans are sold through a merchant of record, who will be named here when billing opens. The merchant of record takes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, issues your receipt and pays refunds back to the payment method you used. Ambolt decides whether a refund is due under this policy; the merchant of record makes the payment.
3. Monthly plans
- Cancel any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- We do not charge a cancellation fee and we do not prorate a month that has started.
- Proposed first-purchase refund (to be confirmed by the owner before billing opens): if you ask within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, we refund that payment in full, no questions asked. This applies once per customer.
4. Annual plans
- Annual plans renew once a year until you cancel. Cancel any time; access continues to the end of the paid year and the plan then reverts to the free plan.
- The same proposed 14-day refund applies to your first annual payment.
- After the 14 days we do not refund the unused part of an annual period, except where the law gives you that right or where we have withdrawn a feature you bought and cannot offer an equivalent.
- Renewals: if you were charged for an annual renewal and tell us within 7 days that you did not want it and have not used the plan since, we refund it.
5. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, including any right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days where it applies to you. Under EU law this right can be lost for a service whose delivery has begun with your agreement; the checkout will say so where it applies. Customers who buy as a business generally have no such right. We apply the proposed refund above regardless, so you do not need to work out which case you are in.
6. When we do not refund
- Abuse: using the service to attack or overload systems, to check sites you have no right to check, or in breach of the terms of use or the law. We may suspend the account and withhold the refund.
- Chargebacks opened without first contacting us. We would rather refund you directly.
- Taxes and fees that the merchant of record has already paid to authorities and cannot recover.
7. If we cannot deliver
If a paid plan is unavailable for an extended period because of a fault on our side, we credit or refund the affected time on request.
8. How to ask
Write to hello@ambolt.dev from the e-mail address of your account, with the plan and the date of the payment. We reply in writing, normally within 3 working days, and a refund we agree to is requested from the merchant of record at once. It usually reaches you within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank.
