Not as impressed as past structures
Several of the pieces were unmarked which made some of the assembly a bit trickier. Additionally some of the instructions were a bit unclear and we ended up having to revise some areas (flip them around). Thankfully we did not have to entirely disassemble to fix it. The roof also did not have holes that worked/ matched with the wood attachments and the layers of metal and their fasteners didn’t make a lot of structural sense. Additionally the quality of wood was a little less desirable than previous purchases, splintered more easily (I bought this for my daughter and she has made three prior purchases through roost and root- greenhouse, smaller coop, smaller walk in coop.) once built it looks great and the chickens love it but I will say the process was not as streamlined as in the past.
Great, small coop!!!!
I bought a coop from them years ago and it has lasted about 15 years. I bought this smaller coop for my side yard. I love it! It sits by my lemon tree. The juvenile chicks are loving it. It is well made and I have confidence that it will last at least 10 years. The wood is good, it was easy to assemble. We had a small problem, and I got a fast call back to help with our concern. We have strong wind and this is handling that very well.i highly recommend this company. Their work is excellent. I have bought cheap coops and they last about 1 year and cost several hundred dollars. This may cost a bit more, but it will last a long time and the personalized name board makes it super fun!

We bought a Heritage Model 12
We bought a Heritage Model 12, and wound up buying a second unit because we loved it so much. We thought about building a coop, but honestly, by the time you factor in materials cost and time, these coops are worth every penny. Happy chickens, the roof panels keep the temps down even on the hottest days, and the storm panels worked great in the cold months, even with baby chicks and freezing temps (and a small warmer in the corner of course). Everyone who sees it is impressed!
Love R&R

Disappointed
The product did not meet the size advertised. The coop is only big enough for four hens and it advertises as eight. Pieces did not fit as they are intended. The company offered to send more panels and reassemble but did not expect to have to do this at this price point. Product arrived later than expected. I would not buy again from this company.

SO happy, but a minor detail could be added...
We're really happy with the quality of our coop. Delivery was on time and well packaged. You can tell the details are well thought out. There is a hole next to the water opening (to allow the nipples to slide in) and a gap against the feeder that we will need to make a cover for because a rodent could squeeze in. I wish that detail was addressed. Those are minor though, and overall we are very pleased!

Superb Quality
Superb Quality, Easy to put together, Beautiful looking. We, our chickens, our kids all love this coop. 10/10 recommend. It took my husband 2 hours to put together while I just stood and occasionally held something so it didn't blow away.

I like that it is a family owned business. Cassandra was so helpful throughout the process. I love the coop. The size is great, easy access to clean, design is well thought out, and easy to build. All holes are pre- drilled. I would highly recommend this product and company.

Exactly what I hoped for!
If you want a solid coop that will keep your hens comfortable and safe - and also look pretty darned cute - you can't go wrong. I was so impressed by the detailed, clear instructions and the thoughtful way that all the panels, hardware, etc. were packaged. I put it together mostly myself (as a nearly-50-year-old woman), though an extra pair of hands was nice at a couple of steps. I outlined the footprint of ours with cement pavers to help get and keep it level and to dissuade diggers - that was the hardest part (but worth it). The coop itself was a breeze to assemble, and it's clear that it will last for years and years. Best of all, our 6 pullets are delighted with their home. Can't wait to test out the nest boxes!
Another smash hit!
This is our second coop from Roost & Root - we had to upgrade because we got more birds! We can't say enough good things about our experience - from the hands-on customer service, to the quality of the coop itself, we love this company. We recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful coop built to last!
