The Services
Social Fetch provides programmatic access to publicly available social and web platform data through a unified HTTP API, along with a dashboard, documentation, and optional playground. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those platforms. The Services are a technical tool only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any particular record. Public data changes frequently and platforms may change without notice.
Access
Your account
You need an account and API credentials to use paid API features. API keys are prefixed with sfk_ and are sent in the x-api-key HTTP header. You are responsible for safeguarding your keys and for all activity under your account. You can create, name, disable, and rotate keys in the dashboard. Notify us promptly at support@socialfetch.dev if you suspect unauthorised use. You may enable two-factor authentication on your account.
Every account has a personal workspace, and you can own up to 5 shared workspaces in addition to it. You can invite other people to a workspace you own. Credits, plans, and payment methods belong to each workspace and are billed to that workspace. Customers cannot transfer credits between workspaces. If you buy credits in the wrong workspace, contact us and we can move them on request. The owner of a workspace (the account or organization that contracts for it) is the customer for all activity in that workspace and is responsible for the acts and omissions of the people it invites, including API usage charged to the workspace. People in a workspace act under the owner’s authority; their personal accounts remain subject to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. API keys created for a workspace use the workspace’s credits, and workspace owners and admins can disable or delete any key in it. Removing someone from a workspace ends their access and disables the API keys they created for it. Team members depend on the plan: 1 on Pay as you go and Starter, 5 on Growth, 25 on Scale, and more by arrangement. There is no per-seat charge, and people with billing access only do not use a seat. Single sign-on, directory sync, and custom roles may be made available for a workspace on request, at our discretion and on the terms we agree with the customer.
Conduct
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services in violation of applicable law.
- Use outputs to harass, surveil, discriminate against, or harm individuals or groups.
- Send spam, manipulate platforms, or engage in deceptive or fraudulent activity.
- Infringe intellectual property or other rights of third parties.
- Attempt to access non-public data, bypass rate limits or technical controls, or probe our systems in ways that could harm availability or security.
- Resell or redistribute the Services in ways that misrepresent their source, or use them to build a substantially similar competing API without our written consent.
Building on Social Fetch
On any plan you may incorporate Social Fetch data outputs into your own products and services, present them under your own brand without attribution to us, and supply them to your own customers. You may not share or resell API keys or other access credentials, expose the Social Fetch API itself as a like-for-like API, or build a substantially similar competing API. This gives you no right beyond what we hold ourselves in the underlying data: the terms of the source platforms, restrictions that apply to us and applicable law, including data-protection law, still apply, and you remain responsible for how your own customers use what you supply.
Platforms
Third-party platforms
You are responsible for compliance with third-party platform terms, your contracts with your customers, and applicable privacy, marketing, and data protection law. We do not provide legal advice on your use cases.
In short
“You are responsible for compliance with third-party platform terms.”
Uptime
Availability
Third-party platforms change without notice. Endpoints may break, deprecate, or return different data. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects access. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or a contractual uptime commitment unless agreed in a separate written agreement. API responses include a requestId you can quote when reporting problems to support.
Payment
Credits, subscriptions, and payment
Paid use is metered via credits described at checkout or in your account. Each API endpoint consumes credits as documented for that endpoint. Credits included in a subscription reset at the start of each monthly credit period. On annual plans, unused included credits carry into the next period up to one period's allowance; otherwise they do not roll over. Pay-as-you-go and refill-pack credits do not expire while your account remains active.
Fees are charged through Stripe according to the prices shown when you purchase. Social Freak Ltd is not registered for UK VAT and does not charge UK VAT. Other taxes may apply where required, and this treatment may change if our registration or legal obligations change. Except where required by applicable law, and except for the first-payment guarantee below, all prepaid purchases—including subscription renewals, pay-as-you-go credit packs, and automatic auto-refill charges—are non-refundable once credits or entitlements are delivered. Discretionary refunds are not guaranteed. The first-purchase bonus and the payment-card bonus each apply once per person (the card bonus also once per payment card), in that person’s personal workspace only, and the card bonus is not available for prepaid cards.
First-payment guarantee: the first subscription payment on an account is refundable if you ask our support team for a refund within 30 days of that payment. The refund is in full if you have used no more than 10% of the included credits, and otherwise covers the unused share. The subscription ends immediately and its included credits are withdrawn; pay-as-you-go and refill credits are unaffected. The guarantee applies once per payment card and is not available where refill packs were bought during that subscription period.
Price lock: the price of your base subscription does not increase while it stays active and uninterrupted. If you cancel and later subscribe again, or change plans, the then-current price of that plan applies. Pay-as-you-go pack, refill and add-on prices may change.
Auto-refill is enabled by default when a new subscription or pay-as-you-go credit pack purchase first creates your billing settings. If you already have auto-refill settings, your On/Off choice, saved payment method, threshold, and spend cap carry over. When you subscribe with a saved pay-as-you-go auto-top-up pack, it automatically maps to a member refill for your subscription tier and billing interval: pay-as-you-go Starter maps to Small on every tier; Growth maps to Starter Large, Growth Medium, or Scale Small; and Scale maps to Large on every tier. The monthly or annual member version applies. This can change the price, number of credits, and how often a refill is needed, including an increase in the next charge. For users without a subscription, a later pay-as-you-go purchase can update the selected pack while auto-refill is On. When auto-refill is On and your balance reaches the configured threshold, you authorize us to charge your saved payment method off-session for the selected pack at its then-current price, up to any spend cap you have set, without further action from you. A selected member refill follows your subscription tier and billing interval, so its price and credit quantity may change when you change plans. If your subscription ends, a selected member refill changes to the pay-as-you-go Growth pack while your On/Off choice remains unchanged. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You may disable or adjust auto-refill settings at any time in your billing account.
If an auto-refill charge fails, we may advance a limited amount of grace credits so service is not immediately interrupted. Grace credits are an advance, not a waiver of payment. They are recouped from your next successful charge, and you remain liable for all credits consumed, including during any grace period.
In short
“Pay-as-you-go and refill-pack credits do not expire while your account remains active.”
Privacy
Data
How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. For personal data in customer-instructed API requests and results, Social Freak Ltd acts as the customer’s processor; the customer remains controller and is responsible for its instructions and lawful basis. We do not sell that data or use it to train machine-learning models, and disclose it only as needed to provide, secure, and support the Services, including through authorised subprocessors. The DPA governs that processor activity and our public register identifies material service providers we publicly name and is non-exhaustive. We retain standard operational API logs for approximately 30 days, including request metadata and limited response previews, for support, billing, abuse prevention, and reliability, then delete them. Accounts that have made a purchase can opt into zero retention: live processing still occurs, but we do not durably store request parameters, target URLs, or response previews; minimal operational, billing, security, and reliability metadata remains. Hosted screenshots and similar short-lived media artifacts are retained for approximately 7 days. Where a customer explicitly opts into hosted social-media originals, those objects are retained for approximately 90 days. Objects are then deleted automatically; customers needing longer retention should download and store the bytes themselves.
Ownership
Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Services, our software, branding, and documentation. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services for your internal business purposes or to power your applications for your end users, in each case as intended. Data returned by the API may be subject to third-party rights; we do not grant you ownership of underlying platform content.
Warranty
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PUBLIC DATA CHANGES FREQUENTLY; WE DO NOT WARRANT ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR AVAILABILITY OF ANY PARTICULAR RECORD.
Liability
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SOCIAL FREAK LTD AND ITS OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID US IN GBP FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Claims
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Social Freak Ltd against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your products, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.
Exit
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, risk to the Services or others, or legal requirement, including by suspending a workspace, which stops its keys and dashboard access. If a workspace has lost access to its owner, we may add an owner to it after verifying the request; we never remove existing members when doing so, and we record the action in the workspace’s activity log. You may stop using the Services at any time. Cancelling a subscription does not by itself close your account; pay-as-you-go and refill-pack credits remain available while your account is active. On account termination or closure, unused credits are forfeited unless required otherwise by applicable law. Closing a workspace requires typed acknowledgement that its remaining credits will be forfeited. A workspace’s sole owner who created it can close it immediately; a closure requested by another owner takes effect after 24 hours. Remaining credits are forfeited once the 30-day restoration window ends. During those 30 days an owner can contact us to restore the workspace or move its credits. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including limitations of liability, indemnity, and intellectual property) will survive termination.
Versioning
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be notified by email or in-product notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.
Disputes
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes arising from these Terms or the Services, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protections in your country may still apply where they cannot be waived.
