3.0 Wind Loads
The design wind pressures for elements of the structure are determined by the
applicable velocity pressure, considering the correction coefficient for height, and
multiplied by the applicable pressure coefficient as given by NSCP. Considering the
basic wind speed of 250 kph and for exposure C, the design wind pressure shall be
determined in accordance with the following formula:
p = qGCp – qi(GCpi)
where:
p = Design wind pressure
q = Velocity pressure
= 0.613KzKztKdV^2
Kz = Velocity pressure exposure coefficient
Kzt = Topographic factor; 1.00
Kd = Wind directionality factor; 0.85
V = Design wind velocity (in m/s)
G = Gust effect factor; 0.85

conformance with the following:
Fx = [(V-Ft)wxhx] / Σ (wihi)
Where:
Ft = 0.07 TV < 0.25v
Note: Ft may be considered zero if T is less than or equal to 0.70 sec.
and
V = Ft + Σ Fi
