Our team recently redesigned the 4,840-square-foot Fairfield Civic Center Library in Solano County, California, which offers educational services and resources to residents of all ages. The design prioritizes flexibility, visibility, and safety for library staff and community members, while encouraging a lively environment to learn and study. The reimagined tutoring area features four new study pods, complete with audio privacy, interior glazing, and modular fixtures, creating a distinct sense of space and identity within the facility and supporting future reconfiguration as program needs evolve. Our Fairfax, Virginia, headquarters hosted another fantastic summer ice cream social! Colleagues socialized over a sweet treat from a local ice cream truck, tasted and voted for entries in a homemade ice cream competition, and donated items for Luther Jackson Middle School’s food pantry. Donations such as pasta, canned meat, oatmeal, and other nonperishable foods will help stock the pantry that students and families in the neighborhood rely on as they begin the new school year. For this year’s homemade ice cream competition, nine employees competed and their creative flavors were ranked by a panel of four intern judges. Congratulations to our winners! ▪️ Best Overall: Project Engineer Victor O'Toole, Nut Your Average Oreo ▪️ Most Creative: Project Manager Delaney Resweber, Mint Madness ▪️ Best Named: Senior Graphic Designer Lan Phan, Cinna-Phan Toast Crunch Additionally, attendees at the social had a chance to taste and vote for their favorite flavor, and the ice cream with the most votes was awarded: ▪️ People’s Choice Award: Graduate Engineer Victor M., Midnight Biscoff Thank you to everyone who donated, and we wish everyone a great end to their summer! #DewberryCares #CommunityEngagement #TeamBuilding #Virginia

Aging facilities, population growth, and evolving operational needs all create challenges for our clients. That's where facility master planning becomes essential. In our latest blog, Chris Monsma, AICP explores how data-driven master planning helps justice and community facility leaders assess current needs, forecast future demand, and make informed capital investment decisions. He also shares insights from a recent project in St. Lucie County, Florida, that demonstrates how strategic planning can support both immediate priorities and long-term growth. This year marks our second year participating in the New York City Economic Development Corporation's (NYCEDC) Waterfront Pathways Program. As a Pathways Opportunity Partner (POP), we are proud to support NYCEDC's vision of expanding equitable participation in waterfront, marine, and coastal infrastructure projects while expanding opportunities for minority-owned, women-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises (M/W/DBEs). The program brings together leaders from across the AEC industry to exchange ideas, build connections, and discuss the future of New York City's waterfronts. Through several engaging discussions and networking opportunities, participants explored ways to strengthen partnerships and advance opportunities within the waterfront sector. Supporting the Waterfront Pathways Program reflects our commitment to investing in emerging businesses, building industry capacity, and fostering partnerships that strengthen New York City's waterfront infrastructure. Maria Alarcon, Keith Itzler, Johanna Pluymers, Sara Margolis, ENV SP and Anupam Saxena represented our team and helped drive these important conversations forward. #NYCEDC #WaterfrontPathways #MWDBE #AECIndustry #WaterfrontDevelopment

It’s Professional Engineers Day! Each year, this day serves as an opportunity to recognize the contributions of licensed professional engineers (PEs) and the many ways they provide value to our infrastructure and communities. Over the last 12 months, we’ve been proud to support 34 professionals on their journey to PE licensure. To celebrate, we asked some of our newly licensed PEs: ▪️ What does earning your PE license mean to you? ▪️ What professional goals are you pursuing, and how will your PE license help you accomplish them? ▪️ What advice would you share with young professionals beginning their licensure journey? Click through the carousel to hear their stories, celebrate their accomplishments, and learn from their experiences. Happy Professional Engineers Day to all the licensed PEs making a difference every day! #LicensedPEday #ProfessionalEngineersDay #PELicense #Engineering #AECIndustry
