Iconic Harry Potter star breaks silence on if he will appear in blockbuster TV reboot
An iconic Harry Potter star has broken his silence on the blockbuster TV reboot of the show.
Last year, it was announced that a television series - based on the famous wizard films - was scheduled to begin production this summer, with streaming service Max, Warner Bros and Harry Potter social media accounts all revealing the news.
Jason Isaacs, 61, played Lucius Malfoy in the original movies and has revealed whether he would consider returning as a different character in the new show.
Speaking to Deadline, the actor quipped: 'I'm hoping to come back as Hermione. I sent my audition tape in and I've yet to hear. But they have my number.'
He made the comment at the White Lotus season three premiere in Los Angeles on Monday.
Jason is set to star in the new series as a wealthy businessman vacationing with his wife and three children.

The next instalment of the Emmy-winning drama will air on Sky and streaming service NOW on February 17.
While the upcoming Harry Potter television show is set to be recorded at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, the same studio where the iconic Harry Potter movies were filmed.
The HBO, Max and Harry Potter Instagram accounts released a joint post revealing production is scheduled to begin in the Summer of 2025.
'Wands at the ready. The upcoming HBO Original Series, #HarryPotter, will be filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden with production beginning in Summer 2025 and coming to Max,' the post read.
The series is said to be, 'a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling.'

Just last year, Jason reunited with his on-screen son Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy.
Tom shared a photo of the pair on Instagram stood outside of The Savoy and the 37-year-old cut a casual figure in a white T-shirt and beige trousers, which he styled with white trainers and a vibrant pink sweatshirt.
While Jason looked equally laidback in blue jeans and a black padded jacket, teamed with trainers and a baseball cap.
Alongside the snap, Tom - also known as Harry Potter's foe Draco - penned: 'Father & son,' alongside a snake emoji in reference to his Hogwarts house Slytherin.
