NFL team woos CEO away from $13billion, iconic century-old US company in latest sign of league dominance
The Washington Commanders have announced Mark Clouse as the team's next President, wooing him to the NFL from The Campbell's Company.
Clouse, who starts his new role, in January, had been the President and CEO with The Campbell's Company since 2019. His role oversaw several iconic brands that includes Campbell's, Rao's, and Goldfish.
The Campbell's Company's market has a market cap of $13.55billion and Clouse's move demonstrates the NFL's pull in American society to bring someone of his caliber into the league.
The Campbell's Company has worked with the NFL in the past, with a recent notable partnership involving Travis and Jason Kelce appearing in a commercial for the soup brand.
Campbell's soups have been a staple in American grocery stores for several decades.
Clouse will replace Jason Wright, who has been the team's President since 2020.

The NFL has increased its revenue over the last two decades consistently, from $6billion in 2004, to over $20billion last year.
Of the top 100 broadcasts of last year, 93 were NFL games, including all of the top 20 and 43 of the top 44.
The NFL is so popular that the Super Bowl's lead-out program was also part of the top 100 broadcasts of the year.
The Commanders are entering their bye week in a playoff position at 8-5, enjoying a resurgent year with Dan Quinn as head coach and rookie sensation Jayden Daniels at quarterback.
