Ali Krieger breaks silence after ex-partner Ashlyn Harris' shocking open-marriage revelation
Ali Krieger has issued a statement addressing the 'misinformation' surrounding her marriage with ex-wife Ashlyn Harris, after the latter revealed she once proposed an open relationship between the pair.
The former couple, who met while playing for the US women's national team, were married for 13 years before divorcing in 2023.
And while speaking on the 'Naked Sports' podcast with Cari Champion, Harris claimed that the couple had intimacy issues, and that she floated the idea of opening their relationship up in an effort to save it.
'That was like, my last attempt of, you know, if I'm not getting what I want and we want to keep this together,' Harris explained late last month, as covered by PEOPLE.
'I didn't know how to tell people that, like, oh, my wife doesn't want to touch me,' she continued, adding that she didn't feel like a 'priority' in their relationship.
On Tuesday evening, Krieger issued a lengthy statement on Instagram, in which she didn't mention Harris' comments specifically but said untrue details had been shared about her previous marriage.

Harris has been dating Sophia Bush since last year. The couple are seen above last month.
'I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support I've received this last year,' she said. 'However, amidst this warmth, I've also had to confront a wave of dishonesty and misinformation regarding my marriage and personal life. While I'm not yet prepared to make a formal statement, I feel compelled to address this currently to prevent further distortion of the truth.
'Above all else, my unwavering priority remains the protection and well-being of my children. I promise to share more when my heart feels ready. In this vulnerable time, I humbly ask for privacy and understanding from all involved, as I grapple with the profound changes in my personal life.'
Krieger's brother, Kyle, also offered support in the comments.
'...Even though you've said very little -- everyone knows the truth,' he said. 'That is a testament to your character and very telling of others. No matter how many lies someone may tell or pr campaigns are planted -- we all know you love your children, and we all know you are an honest, loving, beautiful human. Be free and Soar. the best is yet to come. We got you.'
Harris, who is now dating Sophia Bush, has previously thwarted away claims that she cheated on Krieger during their relationship.
'Not all marriages last forever. Ours did not. For many reasons,' she wrote on Instagram.
'Let me be clear: I did not step out on my marriage. I was always faithful in my marriage, if not always totally happy.'
The couple share two children - Sloane, 3, and Ocean,2 - and Harris added on 'Naked Sports' that her and Krieger's marital problems took a toll on their kids.
'I became a stranger, not only within myself, but within my relationship, and then the worst thing that you can do is start pushing that on your young children,' she said.
'I didn't wanna do that to my kids. I don't want them I don't wanna project my shame and insecurity and my marriage on them because I wasn't getting what I needed out of it.'
Speaking to SELF Magazine last January, Krieger acknowledged that she was 'devastated' after hearing (at soccer practice) that Harris had filed for divorce, but that she was 'in a healthy space.'
Krieger is now in a relationship with former Arsenal star Jen Beattie, whom she previously called a 'wonderful person.'
