Boy seriously hurt after being struck by car in New River
NEW RIVER, AZ (AZFamily) — A child is seriously hurt after being hit by a car north of the Valley on Thursday morning.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies say around 7 a.m., a 12-year-old boy was crossing the street to get on the school bus when he was struck near 31st Avenue and New River Road. The boy was rushed to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
The sedan driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with deputies.
MCSO Vehicular Crimes Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and determine what led up to the collision.
