I used car-buddy.co to purchase a vehicle history report for €1.99. The checkout page showed €49.99 crossed out with €1.99 — making it look like a one-time discounted purchase. There was no checkbox to confirm subscription consent, and the subscription terms were buried in tiny text under the "Check out" button.

The confirmation email I received contained only login credentials — no mention of any subscription, recurring price, trial period, or cancellation instructions.

7 days later, €49.99 was charged to my card without any 3DS authentication or prior notice. I never visited the site that day.

The billing network involves multiple domains: car-buddy.co (frontend), aibeast.co (billing), vin-support.co ("support") — all operated by Diogenes Marketing LLC, Casper, Wyoming, USA.

Note the inconsistency: the checkout page shows €49.99 as the "regular price", the pricing page shows $29.99/month, and the FAQ mentions $5 for a trial. Three different prices across the same website.

I have filed a chargeback with my bank and reported this to the FTC. Avoid this service.

Scam. It doesn't provide any real vehicle data—just generic technical information that could be inferred from the VIN. I paid expecting an actual vehicle history report, but there was no useful or specific information at all.

Biggest scam!! They deliver nothing but charge you a montly fee of 49,99…. When you send them an email an AI agent is responding.

Total scam site. I paid 0.99 EUR for a single vehicle history report. They never delivered the report; it stayed as "Processing" forever. Exactly one week later, they automatically charged my card 49.99 EUR for a hidden monthly subscription. When I contacted support, they refused to refund my money. I had to freeze my credit card and file a fraud dispute (chargeback) through my bank. Avoid car-buddy.co at all costs!

No Report, No Refund, and an Unexpected Monthly Charge

I purchased a vehicle history report from CAR-buddy, but I never received the report I paid for. To make matters worse, they later charged me a monthly subscription fee that I did not agree to.

I contacted the company and requested a refund, but they refused to return my money—even though I never received the original service I purchased. It is unacceptable to charge someone for a report they did not receive and then have the nerve to charge an additional monthly fee.

The subscription and recurring billing were not clearly explained during the checkout process. Had I understood that I was being enrolled in a monthly subscription, I would never have entered my payment information.
I am extremely disappointed with this company’s billing practices and customer service. I strongly advise others to be very cautious before using CAR-buddy or providing them with any payment information.

I purchased a one-time VIN report from car-buddy.co on June 15, 2026. One week later, I was charged 49.99 EUR without any prior notice or email warning. I never agreed to any subscription and was never clearly informed of recurring charges during checkout. I never received any confirmation email from them — which they themselves state they will send in their own Terms and Conditions.

When I contacted their support, they refused to issue a refund, claiming their terms don’t allow it. However, their own terms list a recurring price of $29.99 USD — not 49.99 EUR. The amount and currency don’t even match their own pricing.

This is a deceptive business practice. Avoid this site.

A few months ago I have purchased an Vin report from this company, I received a vague report with no details about the car and with it a subscription on the website, I have applied for a cancellation of the subscription yet no answer

TOTAL SCAM, AVOID AT ALL COSTS
They charge you for a report 4 euro, then they charge you 49.99 euro without any information, for a subscription that I didn't select or whant.
I will inform the police and the bank

I purchased what I believed was a one-time VIN report for a low fee because I was buying a 15-year-old used vehicle worth less than EUR 5,200.

Instead, I later discovered that I had been charged EUR 49.99 per month for a recurring subscription. I was charged three times: on 4 April, 4 May and 4 June 2026, for a total of EUR 149.97.

The subscription was not clearly presented to me in a way that made it obvious I was agreeing to monthly recurring billing. I am not a car dealer, I do not resell vehicles, and I had no need for a monthly subscription or access to additional vehicle history tools. I only needed one report for one car purchase.

I did not use the member area or any subscription services after the initial report, which the company should be able to verify from their own usage records.

I contacted support and requested a refund, but they refused and only cancelled future billing. In my opinion, cancellation alone is not enough when a customer did not clearly understand that they were being enrolled in a costly monthly subscription.

I am very disappointed with this experience and would not recommend this service. Be extremely careful before entering your card details and check whether you are being enrolled into a recurring subscription.

I received the report within just a few minutes. The information about mileage and previous owners was presented clearly.

I thought I was doing a one time deal for a 1.99 it didn't give me any information on my truck I wasn't worried it was a 1.99 so I moved on then I got charged 29.99 and they said you signed up for a monthly subscription witch I didnt but ok so I tried again still no information wont take the vin for my truck so I emailed and they said we will refund you because it didnt work and then they emailed back and they dont do refund but if you get charged again let them know so I would stay away from them now I have to get a hold of my credit card and dispute it just more time because they are sneaky if it would of work would of been on thing but it not working is the problem

They say it's free, but later on they ask for €0.99.
I paid and received nothing else, no email or report, I just lost my money.

Scamming site. Sells you a one time VIN report that is basically worth nothing for 1.99€ and then charges a monthly 49.99€ without any documentation.

Run away from this application/site. They charge you 4 euros for a report at the beginning and then they make you pay 50 euros per month. I didn't see the information about the subscription and it took me 2 months to get my money back.

To be honest, I found the report useful overall. The information about previous records and potential damage was presented in an easy-to-understand way. Some sections could have been a bit more detailed for my liking. Nevertheless, the service provided valuable assistance.

Very useful if you want to quickly check multiple VINs for cars from the USA.

I needed history of vehicle, I agreed to pay one off fee off $1.99 , did not receive report and just got emails saying it will come , then they started trying to charge my visa 49.99 saying it was a monthly subscription even though I told them not to try to charge my card again and I didn't agree to subscription, this is definitely a scam.

Almost no information, and they tried charging me 50 euro many days later out of nowhere

Avoid car-buddy.co. I paid €1.99 for a single vehicle history report that was never delivered. They refunded that small amount. But a week later, on 1 June 2026, they charged €49.99 (around $56.10) as a "subscription" I never signed up for, never accessed, and never used.

When I disputed it, their AI based support confirmed a full €49.99 refund IN WRITING, then reversed that confirmation the next day and called the charge "non-refundable." When I asked for proof I had agreed to any subscription, they admitted they had no timestamped record of my consent.

The billing shows as aibeast.co / CHG RECORDS LIMITED (a UK company). This is a bait-and-switch subscription trap: cheap undelivered report up front, larger unauthorized charge later, refunds promised then refused. I have reported it to my card issuer for a chargeback and to consumer authorities. Do not enter your card details.
