How to read the results
The summary counts how many endings have no registration. Each row then shows one of four results.
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
No registration found | The registry has no record of the name with that ending. |
Registered | Someone holds it. The registrar and expiry date show when published. |
Cannot check | The ending has no public lookup service. Use the registry's own search, listed in the TLD directory. |
Check failed | The registry didn't answer or limited requests. Try again in a few minutes. |

Example
Across the 10 preselected endings, 9 of 10 have no registration. Only quietlanternstudio.com is Registered, through Tucows Domains Inc., with an expiry date of 6 October 2027.
Which endings should I check?
Start with the endings your audience knows and that you're allowed to register. The preselected endings are a starting set that can all be checked, not a recommendation.
For a local business, add your country's ending and read its rules, since some only sell to residents or local companies. For protecting a brand, check the endings people might confuse with yours. This check isn't trademark clearance.
Why is a free name sometimes not for sale?
The registration record never shows price or who's allowed to buy. A name with no registration can still be reserved, premium-priced, or restricted. The domain availability checker explains each case. Confirm the first-year and renewal price at a registrar before you choose.
Why is the check limited to twelve endings?
Each ending is a separate request to a different registry, and registries limit how often one address can ask. Every visitor shares stack127's address, so a cap per check and per visitor keeps the tools working for everyone. If you hit a limit, the page says so.
Each name goes from stack127 to its registry. Saved answers are stored by name, not linked to you. A Registered row can be up to 24 hours old and a No registration found row up to 1 hour old, and each row shows when it was fetched.
