No. The Reel or video post must be publicly retrievable without your Instagram login. We do not use your account to access private, followers-only or restricted posts. If you have permission to process a copy, you can upload an MP3, MP4, WAV or M4A file instead.

No. Instagram Stories and Story links are outside the supported workflow. Use a public Reel or video post. An authorized recording can be submitted through the Upload tab within the displayed limits.

Public /reel/, /reels/ and video /p/ links are supported, including /creator/reel/ permalinks. Paste the full app share link with its parameters; /share/ links go through the resolver to identify the video. A supported URL format does not guarantee retrieval if Instagram restricts or removes the post.

Photo posts and non-video carousels are not supported video inputs. We do not extract image text or the post description. Music-only Reels, silent clips or speech too faint to recognize may produce no valid spoken transcript. If no valid transcript is delivered, the free attempt or reserved credits are released.

It contains recognized speech from the audio track. Existing captions are not required or copied, and text visible only on screen is not read. The Reel's description is never substituted for a transcript. This tool does not translate the spoken language.

No time-range selection or automatic trimming is available. We process the entire submitted Reel or file. If you only need one section, prepare a shorter file you are authorized to use, then upload it; the normal duration and file-size limits still apply.

Yes. Review the Reel's audio, then edit individual transcript segments to correct names or unclear words. Changes are saved while the original timestamps stay fixed. Copying and downloads use your edited text.

Results are private by default and excluded from search indexing. You can explicitly create a public link after reviewing the text, update its snapshot or turn sharing off. Retrieved media stays private and is deleted after processing and within 24 hours. Guest results and shared links expire after 7 days; account results remain until deleted. Deleting a result removes its shared page too. We never publish transcripts automatically.

No. ShortTranscript is an independent transcription tool. An Instagram transcript does not grant permission to republish someone else's video or speech. Only submit content you own, that is publicly accessible, or that you are authorized to process.
