If you subscribe

The form stores your email address, the page you signed up on, the date, whether you have confirmed or unsubscribed, and two random links: one to confirm, one to unsubscribe. A record of each email sent to you (what it was and when) is kept with it.

Before the form is accepted, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person sent it: it runs in your browser, and the site passes your IP address to Cloudflare to verify the result. This site stores neither.

Signing up is double opt-in: you get one confirmation email, and nothing else until you click it. Your address is used only to send you Notes. Every email has an unsubscribe link, which stops email at once.

When you read

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, referring sites, countries, browser types and page speed. It sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you.

The site also keeps its own counts: the page you landed on, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link; which kind of link you used to leave (email, LinkedIn, GitHub and so on, never the address); and how far you read a case study and whether you played its video. These rows hold no IP address, browser details, cookie or identifier, so they can’t be tied to you. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, these counts aren’t sent at all.

Like any web host, Cloudflare sees your IP address to deliver pages. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

Who processes it

Cloudflare
Hosts the site and runs the database that holds subscriber records and the site’s own counts, the Turnstile human check on the form, and Web Analytics. Their privacy policy.
Resend
Sends the confirmation email and, once sending starts, the Notes emails. It receives your address to deliver them. Their privacy policy.

Both may process data in the United States.

How long, and how to delete it

Your subscriber record is kept until you ask me to delete it. Unsubscribing stops all email and marks the record unsubscribed; to remove it entirely, ask me. The anonymous counts are kept for trends and can’t be traced back to you.

To see, correct or delete what is stored about you, write to hi@promitb.dev from the address you subscribed with. I answer within 30 days. I rely on your consent to email you, and you can withdraw it at any time. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

The site isn’t aimed at children. When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
