About Developer Tools

The developer category has 40 tools for the small jobs that come up while you code. The JSON Formatter, JSON Validator, JSON Viewer and JSON Schema Validator clean up and check API responses and config files. Converters such as the JSON to CSV Converter, JSON to Excel Converter, JSON to YAML Converter, XML to JSON Converter and JSON to TypeScript change data from one shape to another. For quick checks there are the Regex Tester, JWT Decoder, Hash Generator, HMAC Generator, UUID Generator, Unix Timestamp Converter and Cron Expression Generator. Formatters and minifiers cover HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL, and the YAML Validator catches indent and boolean mistakes. Reference pages like the HTTP Status Codes List, MIME Type Lookup and DNS Record Types answer common lookups. These tools are for web developers, testers and anyone who works with data formats. They run in your browser, so pasted code and tokens stay on your device.

Common questions

Do these developer tools send my code to a server?

No. The tools run in your browser, so what you paste, including JWTs and API responses, is processed on your device and is not uploaded. The one exception is the optional load from URL field in a few tools, such as the XML to JSON Converter and HTML Viewer. It fetches that public page through our server so your browser can read it.

How do I find the error in invalid JSON?

Paste it into the JSON Validator. It shows the line and column of the first error with a plain-English reason. It can also fix common problems like trailing commas, single quotes and bare keys in one click.

Does the JWT Decoder verify the signature?

No. It decodes the header and payload and shows iat, nbf and exp as readable dates, but it does not check the signature. Use it to inspect a token, not to prove the token is valid. To check a webhook signature, use the HMAC Generator.

Which data converters are available?

You can convert JSON to and from CSV, XML and YAML, turn JSON into a spreadsheet with the JSON to Excel Converter, and create TypeScript interfaces with JSON to TypeScript. The JSON to TOON Converter cuts LLM prompt size. There are also Markdown to HTML and HTML to Markdown converters, and a cURL to Code Converter for fetch, axios and Python requests.

Can I minify or beautify HTML, CSS and JavaScript here?

Yes. There are separate minifiers and beautifiers for HTML, CSS and JavaScript, plus an SQL Formatter. The minifiers show how many bytes you saved, and the HTML Viewer lets you check the result in a live preview.
