Skills (mattpocock)

An MIT-licensed skill collection for AI coding agents, with adaptable workflows for requirements, testing, debugging and architecture review.

Skills (mattpocock) is a collection of small engineering workflows for developers using Claude Code, Codex and other AI coding agents. You can adapt and combine individual skills to address specific problems without adopting a complete development process.

  • Requirements and terminology: grill-with-docs asks detailed questions about proposed work, builds shared terminology in GLOSSARY.md and records architecture decisions.
  • Specifications: to-spec asks which modules a change affects before producing a specification.
  • Testing and debugging: tdd guides test-first development and refactoring, while diagnosing-bugs organizes investigation into gated phases.
  • Architecture review: improve-codebase-architecture identifies modules that could expose more behavior through simpler interfaces and presents refactoring candidates in an HTML report.

The architecture survey identifies work to consider; it doesn't automatically untangle an existing codebase. Some skills require an explicit request, while the agent can select others when they fit the task.

The collection is open source under the MIT license and works with any model. Its workflows operate within your chosen coding agent.
