AIRI is a self-hosted AI companion for people who want to talk with a virtual character and have it participate in games. Inspired by Neuro-sama, it supports real-time voice conversations and is in early development.

  • Voice conversation: Talk with the companion in real time, with support for connecting to Discord voice channels.
  • Game participation: The companion can play Minecraft and Factorio with friends through integrations that use capabilities beyond the browser.
  • Model choice: Connect to locally hosted models through Ollama, vLLM or SGLang, or use providers including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini and OpenRouter.

AIRI runs in modern browsers and has desktop apps for macOS and Windows. Its progressive web app also supports mobile devices. The desktop version can use native NVIDIA CUDA and Apple Metal acceleration by default.

The project is open source under the MIT license. Choosing a cloud model sends model requests to that provider, even when you host the companion yourself.
