Docker MCP Gateway
An open-source MCP gateway that runs tool servers in Docker and shares profiles across AI clients, with support for remote servers and OAuth.

Docker MCP Gateway connects AI applications to tools and data through a shared gateway. It's for developers who want coding assistants to use the same server configuration while local tool servers run in isolated Docker containers.
- Shared profiles: Group servers by project, share profiles with a team, and connect clients such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Zed to the same collection.
- Server catalogs: Choose verified container images from Docker's catalog or maintain custom catalogs of approved servers; profiles can also include remote MCP servers.
- Credentials and access: Use built-in OAuth flows for services that require account authorization, with API key and credential management supplied by Docker Desktop.
- Discovery and tracing: Discover tools, prompts, and resources exposed by running servers, then inspect logs and call traces when requests fail.
The gateway is an open-source Docker CLI plugin under the MIT license. It powers Docker Desktop's MCP Toolkit and can also run independently of Desktop. It routes requests and manages server lifecycles.
Profiles, catalogs, and server configuration stay in a local database. Containerized servers run on your hardware; remote MCP servers run elsewhere, and calls to external services send requests to those services.
