Privacy policy

This policy explains what LaunchRanked (operated by Piyush Aaryan, “we”) collects when you use launchranked.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. The short version: we collect only what we need to run the site, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use ad trackers.
What we collect
When you create an account or sign in
Your account is identified by your email address. You can sign in two ways:
- Email link: we email you a one-time sign-in link. We store only a one-way hash of the link’s token, when it was sent, and a hash of your IP address (to rate-limit abuse).
- Continue with Google: Google shares your name and email address with us, and confirms that the email is verified. We use them only to create your account and sign you in. We don’t receive your Google password, we don’t request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data, and we don’t keep Google access tokens.
When you’re signed in, a session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We store a hash of it, when it was created, and your browser’s user-agent, so you can be signed out and sessions expire.
LaunchRanked’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you use the dashboard (AI SEO Autopilot)
If you add a website, we read its public pages and sitemaps to plan and write content, and we store the articles, topics and settings you create. If you connect Google Search Console or a publishing destination (such as WordPress or Webflow), we store the credentials you give us encrypted and use them only to do what you set up: read your search performance and publish your articles.
When you join a waitlist or apply
Forms for early access, directory submission and Done-for-you collect your email address and, where the form asks, your website and an optional note about your business. We also record which form you used and when.
If you ask for our AI SEO checklist, we store your email address, the page you asked from and a hash of your IP address, and we send you other emails only if you ticked the box for them.
When you launch a product
The launch form collects your name, email address, optional X (Twitter) handle, and information about your product: name, tagline, description, website, logo, category and pricing model.
Product information and your maker name (and X handle, if you give one) are shown publicly on your product page once the listing is approved. Once a launch of yours goes live, you also get a public maker page (/makers/…) listing your live launches under the name from your latest launch. Your email address is never shown publicly.
We use your email address to write to you about your launch: that we received it, whether it was approved (or why not), when your launch week starts, and how it went afterwards. The launch-week emails (“you’re live” and your results) have an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of them at any time; emails about reviewing your submission still go out. If you order directory submission, we email you when your order is paid, when work starts and when it’s done. Replies go to hello@launchranked.com. We keep a record of which of these emails we sent and when, so none is sent twice, and a list of addresses that opted out.
When you upvote or submit
To stop duplicate votes and rate-limit spam, we combine your IP address and browser user-agent with a secret value and store only a one-way hash of the result. We do not store your raw IP address or user-agent with your vote or submission, and the hash can’t be turned back into them.
If you’re signed in when you upvote, we also link the vote to your account, so you can vote once per product on any device and so the vote can count toward your daily streak. To tell whether you visited a product’s site before voting, we compare the same day’s visit hash described under “Product page statistics”; we don’t record anything new about the visit. Your streak (days met, current and best) is visible only to you.
When you review a product
A review is linked to your account and shown publicly with your first name and the initial of your last name, your star rating, your text and the date; never your email address. The product’s maker gets an email with your review and can reply publicly under it. You can edit or delete your review at any time, and we may hide reviews that break our terms.
When you use our free tools
Some tools fetch a URL you enter (for example, to read a robots.txt file). We use that URL to run the check and show you the result. AI tools send the text you type to an AI model to write or research the result: text tools use models reached through OpenRouter (see below), with Cloudflare Workers AI as a backup, and the image and keyword-grouping tools run on Cloudflare Workers AI. We don’t save tool inputs to our database, except for the AI visibility check below and the search-data tools: the website traffic, website authority, SERP, keyword rank, People Also Ask, AI Overview, Google index and keyword difficulty checkers send the domain, URL or keywords you enter to DataForSEO, our search data provider, and we keep that input with the result for up to 7 days so a repeat check is instant. We don’t store your IP address or account with it.
When you run the free AI visibility check
The AI visibility checker reads the public homepage of the site you enter (through a rendering service, context.dev, when the site blocks our reader) and sends its text to an AI model through OpenRouter to write four buyer questions. When you run the check, which needs a free account, we send those questions, plus the country if you chose one, to ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Perplexity and Google Gemini through OpenRouter; your account details aren’t sent. We store the site, the questions and the answers with your account, along with a one-way hash of your IP address so we can limit free checks per network. Anyone with a report’s link can see it. If your check has to wait for a free slot, we email you the report when it’s ready.
When you use the directory tracker
The directory tracker stores, with your account, the product name, website and description you enter, the directories you track with their status, the listing addresses and notes you add, and the result of each listing check. To pick directories and write your copy kit, we send the product name, website and description to AI models through OpenRouter; your account details aren’t sent. A listing check fetches the public listing page you gave us and looks for links to your site. On the paid plan we repeat that check weekly and email you if a listing that was live disappears or loses its followed link; the unsubscribe link in that email stops these alerts.
Autopilot emails each site’s owner a results report every Monday, and once near the end of a free trial, built from the site’s own data in LaunchRanked. The unsubscribe link in those emails stops them.
When you use LaunchRanked from an AI assistant
ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and other AI assistants can use our tools through our MCP server (see the setup guide). When they do, we receive what the assistant sends to run each check: the URLs or domains to check and, for directory matching, a short product description. The checks work like the free tools above, and we don’t store these inputs. The writing tools below are the exception.
- From ChatGPT without a LaunchRanked account, we receive an anonymised user id that ChatGPT creates. We use a one-way hash of it, held only in memory and never stored, to apply per-minute fair-use limits. If ChatGPT sends no id, we use a hash of the request’s IP address the same way. We also use the request’s IP address, without storing it, to confirm it comes from ChatGPT.
- When you connect your LaunchRanked account (by signing in from the assistant, or with an API key you create), the assistant can use our tools as you: your plan’s limits, your sites’ data such as Search Console data, AI visibility results and articles, and, on sites you can edit, publishing through the writing tools. We store the connection (which app, when it was connected and last used), a one-way hash of each access token or key, and daily and monthly usage counts for the tools that have limits.
- The writing tools (content plans, keyword data, briefs, draft checks and publishing; not in ChatGPT): we send the keywords to DataForSEO for search data and the target search to our search provider, context.dev, for the pages that rank. A draft you only check isn’t stored; we request the pages it cites to confirm they load. When you publish, we store the article with your site, like Autopilot’s articles, and send it to the publishing service you connected.
- The assistant’s provider (for example OpenAI or Anthropic) receives the results and handles your conversation under its own privacy policy.
“People online now” and “visitors in the last 7 days”
These numbers are totals from our analytics provider, DataFast (see below). While a page is open, it also tells our server every 40 seconds that someone is viewing the site, so we can still count who’s online if DataFast doesn’t answer. We store only a salted one-way hash of your IP address and the time; rows are deleted within about 10 minutes. It can’t identify you and isn’t linked to your account.
Analytics (DataFast)
We use DataFast to count visits and see which websites and campaigns bring people here. Its script sets a first-party cookie (datafast_visitor_id) holding a random identifier, and records the pages you view, the site that referred you, and your approximate location and device type. We also tell DataFast when that identifier takes a few key actions (signing up, submitting a launch, upvoting, joining a waitlist, running a free AI visibility check or starting checkout), with no email or name attached. When you pay for something, we send DataFast the amount, currency, your email and that identifier, so we can see which channels lead to sales. We don’t use it for advertising.
Product page statistics
When you open a product page, or click through to the product’s website from it, we count it so the maker can see views and clicks in their dashboard. We store the product, the day, and a one-way hash of your IP address and browser salted with that day’s date, so each person counts once a day and can’t be followed from one day to the next. Makers see only totals, never who visited. These counts are deleted after about 13 months.
Referral links
If you open a LaunchRanked link containing ?ref=, we set two cookies for 30 days: lr_ref holds that referral code, and lr_inv only notes that there is one, so the launch form can show the first name of the maker who invited you. If you then submit a launch, we record which email address referred it, so its owner can earn a credit when your launch is approved. We don’t share your details with the referrer: they see how many of their referred launches are pending or approved, and we tell them the product name (public once approved) when one earns them a credit. Every maker gets a referral code tied to the email address they launch with.
Server logs
Like any website, the infrastructure that serves our pages processes standard request data (such as IP address, user-agent and the page requested) to deliver the site, keep it secure and debug errors.
What we don’t do
- We don’t use advertising trackers or sell your data.
- We don’t sell, rent or trade your email address. We only pass on contact details when a service you ordered needs them (for example, a directory that requires a contact email for your listing).
How we use your information
- To review, publish and moderate product listings.
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To contact you about your launch, waitlist spot, application or order.
- To deliver services you ask for, such as directory submission, where we submit your product information to third-party directories on your behalf.
- To prevent abuse: duplicate votes, spam submissions and automated misuse.
Where it’s stored
The site runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers), and our database is Cloudflare D1. Cloudflare processes data on our behalf as our hosting provider. We also use:
- Resend to send email (sign-in links and messages about your account or order), which receives your email address and the message.
- Dodo Payments to take payments. Dodo acts as the merchant of record and handles your card and billing details; we never see or store card numbers. We receive your email, what you bought and the payment status.
- OpenRouter, which passes requests to AI model providers (such as Perplexity, Z.ai, TypeSafe, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and xAI), to write and research content for AI SEO Autopilot and some free tools. It receives the text or page content to be processed, not your account details.
- DataFast for website analytics and to attribute payments to the channel that brought you (see above).
- Google, only if you choose “Continue with Google” (see above) or connect Search Console, and Google PageSpeed Insights, which receives the URL when you run a speed check.
- Ahrefs, which receives the domains you look up with a Domain Rating check.
We don’t share your information with anyone else except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Waitlist entries are kept until the product or service launches and for as long as you remain interested; ask and we’ll delete yours. Product listings stay up as permanent pages unless you ask us to remove them or we remove them under our terms. Vote and submission hashes are kept with the records they protect. Your account stays until you ask us to delete it; sessions expire after 30 days, and sign-in link records are deleted after 2 days. Free AI visibility reports are deleted after 30 days, and the questions written before a check runs after 7 days. Daily Domain Rating lookup counts for AI assistants are deleted after 90 days. Access tokens from AI assistants expire after an hour and refresh tokens after 30 days, and their records are deleted a day after they expire; a connection stays until you disconnect it. A directory tracker and everything in it stays until you delete the tracker or your account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information (including your account), or to remove your product listing, by emailing hello@launchranked.com. You can disconnect AI assistants and revoke API keys yourself in your account settings. If you signed in with Google, you can also remove LaunchRanked’s access at any time from your Google Account. We’ll respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, the GDPR or UK GDPR), including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
