LaunchRanked in ChatGPT, Claude and your coding agent
Give your AI assistant live SEO checks of any website. Ask it to audit a page, check AI crawler access or find directories for your product. A coding agent can then fix what it finds in your code and check again after you deploy.
Server URL: https://launchranked.com/mcp (MCP over Streamable HTTP, OAuth sign-in).
Want your assistant to write and publish articles too? SEO Skills (from $7.50/mo) adds keyword data, briefs, draft checks and publishing.

Connect your assistant
Let your coding agent set it up
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot in VS Code, Gemini CLI, Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf) or OpenClaw. Your agent adds the server and the SEO skills, tells you when to sign in, then audits your live site and asks before it changes any code.
Setup prompt
Set up LaunchRanked for me. It's an MCP server with SEO and AI-search checks at https://launchranked.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, OAuth sign-in). Do every step you can yourself, and stop only when I have to act.
Rules:
- Install at user level, never in this repo. Don't commit anything.
- Before you edit a config file, copy it to <file>.bak. Add only the launchranked entry and keep every other server, setting and comment. Create the file if it's missing. If you can't parse it, stop and ask me.
- Config files may hold other servers' keys. Never print them; show me only the launchranked entry.
- Never ask me for a password or API key, and never print a token.
- During setup, call only get_account, audit_page and audit_ai_search. Never call publish_article or any other tool that changes my site.
- If your sandbox blocks network access or writes to my home folder, ask me to approve the command.
- If I paste this again after a restart, check what's already done and carry on.
1. Work out which agent you are, where you run (terminal, IDE or desktop app), and which of claude, codex, gemini, devin, openclaw and code are on PATH. If you're not sure, ask me one question. If a launchranked server is already set up (Claude Code shows the plugin's as plugin:launchranked:launchranked), don't add another one, but still add the skill if it's missing. If its tools already work, go to step 4.
2. Follow only your client's steps:
- Claude Code: `claude plugin marketplace add https://launchranked.com/claude/marketplace.json`, then `claude plugin install launchranked@launchranked`. The plugin brings the server and both skills (SEO audit and article writing), so skip `npx skills`.
If the install fails (it needs git), run `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user launchranked https://launchranked.com/mcp` instead ("already exists" is fine).
If `claude` isn't on PATH: in the VS Code extension, ask me to open vscode://anthropic.claude-code/install-plugin?plugin=launchranked&marketplace=https%3A%2F%2Fround-lake.dustinice.workers.dev%3A443%2Fhttps%2Flaunchranked.com%2Fclaude%2Fmarketplace.json and pick the user scope. In the desktop app, ask me to add https://launchranked.com/mcp as a custom connector (Customize → Connectors), press Connect, then start a new conversation.
- Codex: `codex plugin marketplace add AI-XLabs-Innovation/launchranked-agent`, then `codex plugin add launchranked@launchranked` (server and skill). If `codex plugin` is missing or fails, add `[mcp_servers.launchranked]` with `url = "https://launchranked.com/mcp"` to ~/.codex/config.toml, then add the skill below.
- Cursor: add `"launchranked": {"url": "https://launchranked.com/mcp"}` under "mcpServers" in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Don't use `cursor --add-mcp`; it writes a different file.
- VS Code (GitHub Copilot): `code --add-mcp '{"name":"launchranked","type":"http","url":"https://launchranked.com/mcp"}'`. On Windows, or if `code` isn't on PATH, add `"launchranked": {"type": "http", "url": "https://launchranked.com/mcp"}` under "servers" in the user mcp.json: macOS ~/Library/Application Support/Code/User/mcp.json, Linux ~/.config/Code/User/mcp.json, Windows %APPDATA%\Code\User\mcp.json (another profile or Insiders: ask me to run "MCP: Open User Configuration").
- Gemini CLI: `gemini mcp add --transport http -s user launchranked https://launchranked.com/mcp`
- Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf): `devin mcp add -s user launchranked https://launchranked.com/mcp`. If `devin` isn't on PATH, add `"launchranked": {"url": "https://launchranked.com/mcp"}` under "mcpServers" in ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json (Windows %APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json; older Windsurf builds ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json).
- OpenClaw: `openclaw mcp set launchranked '{"url":"https://launchranked.com/mcp","transport":"streamable-http","auth":"oauth"}'`, then `openclaw skills install @piyushgit011/launchranked-seo --global`. If `openclaw mcp` doesn't exist, tell me to update OpenClaw.
- Any other agent: add https://launchranked.com/mcp as a remote HTTP server named launchranked in your user-level MCP config.
The skills (SEO audit and article writing), for every client except Claude Code, OpenClaw and Codex with the plugin: `npx -y skills add AI-XLabs-Innovation/launchranked-agent -g -y -a <id>`. Use cursor, github-copilot (VS Code), gemini-cli, devin (older Windsurf: windsurf) or codex. For another agent, use its id if the skills CLI lists it; otherwise skip the skill.
3. Tell me the steps only I can do (reload or restart, then sign in to LaunchRanked in the browser with a free account). Skip any that are already done, and wait for me after each one.
- Claude Code: in a terminal or JetBrains, I type /reload-plugins (/reload-plugins --force if it asks), or, if you used `claude mcp add`, /exit and then `claude --continue`. In the VS Code extension or the desktop app, I start a new conversation and paste this prompt again (not needed after the install link). Then you call the tool whose name ends in launchranked__authenticate and give me its link. If there's no such tool, I type /mcp, pick launchranked and choose Authenticate.
- Codex: I run `codex mcp login launchranked` in my own terminal, then start a new Codex session (or restart the IDE extension or app) and paste this prompt again.
- Cursor: I open the MCP list (Customize → MCPs, or Settings → Tools & MCP), find launchranked and press Connect. If it isn't listed, I reload the window. In the Cursor CLI, I run `agent mcp enable launchranked`, then `agent mcp login launchranked`.
- VS Code: I run "MCP: List Servers" → launchranked → Start, trust the server and allow the sign-in.
- Gemini CLI: I restart gemini, trust this folder if it says servers are disabled, type /mcp auth launchranked, then paste this prompt again.
- Devin Desktop: I run `devin mcp login launchranked`, or press Authenticate next to launchranked in the MCP list.
- OpenClaw: you run `openclaw mcp login launchranked` in the background (it waits for my browser) and give me the URL it prints. If my browser ends on a 127.0.0.1:8989 page that won't load (OpenClaw on another machine), I give you the code= value from that address and you run `openclaw mcp login launchranked --code <code>`. Then run `openclaw mcp reload`.
4. Check it works: list your launchranked tools (search your tools if they're deferred) and call get_account. If the tools are missing, tell me what to reload or restart, and to paste this prompt again after.
5. Run a first audit. Find the production URL this project deploys to (README, package.json "homepage", metadataBase or site in the framework config, CNAME, vercel.json, netlify.toml, wrangler config). Ignore github.com, npmjs.com and localhost links; the checks need a public URL. If you can't find it, ask me. Run audit_page and audit_ai_search on its home page. Show me both scores and the top 5 fixes, each with the file or template that causes it. Offer to fix them, and don't change any code until I say yes. After I deploy, run the same checks on the same URL again and compare the scores.
6. List the commands you ran and the files you changed, with their .bak copies.ChatGPT and Claude chat (web, desktop and mobile) can't be set up by a prompt, so use their steps below.
ChatGPT
Our plugin is in review for ChatGPT’s plugin directory; once it’s listed for your account, add LaunchRanked from there. Page checks work straight away; connect your LaunchRanked account to see your Autopilot sites’ AI visibility results. Until then, turn on developer mode (Settings → Security and login → Developer mode), open chatgpt.com/plugins, press + and use the server URL https://launchranked.com/mcp.
Claude (web, desktop and mobile)
Add LaunchRanked to Claude (or Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, with https://launchranked.com/mcp), then press Connect and sign in.
Claude Code
Install the plugin: it adds the server plus two skills (an SEO audit and article writing) and two commands, /launchranked:seo-audit and /launchranked:launch-plan. Then run /mcp, pick launchranked and sign in. Or add just the server. The plugin’s source is on GitHub: AI-XLabs-Innovation/launchranked-agent.
Plugin (in Claude Code)
/plugin marketplace add https://launchranked.com/claude/marketplace.json
/plugin install launchranked@launchrankedServer only (in your terminal)
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user launchranked https://launchranked.com/mcpCursor
Add LaunchRanked to Cursor. Cursor opens the sign-in the first time it connects. Then add the skills to your project, so the agent follows the audit, fix and re-check loop, and can write articles with SEO Skills.
Skill (in your project)
npx skills add AI-XLabs-Innovation/launchranked-agent -a cursorCodex
Add the server, then the skills. Codex opens the sign-in when you add the server; if it doesn’t, run codex mcp login launchranked.
In your project
codex mcp add launchranked --url https://launchranked.com/mcp
npx skills add AI-XLabs-Innovation/launchranked-agent -a codexOpenClaw
Add the server and sign in from the terminal, then add the SEO skill from ClawHub for all your OpenClaw agents.
In your terminal
openclaw mcp set launchranked '{"url":"https://launchranked.com/mcp","transport":"streamable-http","auth":"oauth"}'
openclaw mcp login launchranked
openclaw skills install @piyushgit011/launchranked-seo --globalWindsurf, VS Code and other MCP clients
Add the server to your client’s MCP config. The client opens a LaunchRanked sign-in the first time it connects. npx skills add AI-XLabs-Innovation/launchranked-agent adds both skills to most agents.

What your assistant can do
Most tools only read: they check public pages or your own account's data and never change your site. publish_article is the exception: it publishes an article to your site, so let your assistant call it only when you want that.
| Tool | What it does | Account |
|---|---|---|
audit_page | On-page SEO audit of one live URL, as Google sees it: indexability (HTTP status, noindex, robots.txt), title, meta description, headings, canonical, Open Graph and Twitter tags, JSON-LD, image alt text, internal links, content length and HTTPS. | Optional |
audit_ai_search | Checks how ready a live page is to be read and cited by AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews): whether AI crawlers such as GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot may fetch it under robots.txt, llms.txt / llms-full.txt / ai.txt, a markdown version of the page, answer-friendly structure (question headings, lists, tables), freshness dates and structured data. | Optional |
check_page_speed | Runs Google PageSpeed Insights (Lighthouse) on a live URL: performance score, Core Web Vitals from real Chrome users (LCP, INP, CLS) when Google has field data, lab metrics, and the biggest opportunities with estimated savings. | Optional |
check_structured_data | Extracts and validates the JSON-LD on a live page (and notes microdata / RDFa): parse errors, the schema.org types present, and missing required or recommended properties for Google rich results (Article, Product, Organization, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, SoftwareApplication and more). | Optional |
check_sitemap | Finds and validates a site's XML sitemaps (from robots.txt or /sitemap.xml, following sitemap indexes): file problems (status, XML, size, gzip) and URL problems (relative or invalid <loc>, other hosts, www mismatch, bad lastmod, duplicates). | Optional |
check_llms_txt | Validates a site's /llms.txt (and /llms-full.txt) against the llms.txt proposal: the file exists and is served as text, has an H1 title, a summary blockquote and sections of markdown links, and the linked URLs resolve. | Optional |
check_links | Checks every link on a live page (up to 100 unique URLs, internal links first): broken links (4xx, 5xx, DNS errors, timeouts) and redirects, with the anchor text so you can find them in the source. | Optional |
domain_rating | Looks up Domain Rating by Ahrefs (DR, 0-100: the strength of a site's backlink profile) for up to 25 domains at once. Not in ChatGPT. | Optional |
find_directories | Ranks LaunchRanked's database of vetted startup directories and launch sites by fit for a product (AI-scored against each directory's audience), with each one's link type (dofollow or nofollow), pricing, and whether it needs an account or a badge. | Optional |
get_account | Shows the LaunchRanked account this connection is signed in as: plan, the account's Autopilot sites by domain (the site tools take that domain), and today's Domain Rating lookups where that tool is available. | Needs sign-in |
search_console_report | Google Search Console data for one of the user's Autopilot sites: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position for the last 28 days, clicks and impressions week by week for 12 weeks, the top queries and pages, and suggested new titles and meta descriptions for pages that rank on page 1-2 but get few clicks (with the clicks they're missing). Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
ai_visibility_report | Latest AI visibility results for one of the user's Autopilot sites: how often ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude mention or cite the site for its tracked buyer questions, per engine, the questions where it's missing, and the competitors those answers name instead. | Needs sign-in |
internal_link_map | How one of the user's Autopilot sites links to itself, from LaunchRanked's weekly crawl of up to 200 of its pages: clusters (site sections) with their main pages and the links between them in the text, pages no other page links to, pages linked from only one or two pages, articles that don't link to the page on the site they're about, and linking suggestions naming the pages to change. Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
list_articles | Articles on one of the user's sites, newest first: title, status (needs review, scheduled, published…), publish date, live URL, word count, and whether Autopilot wrote it or it came in through publish_article. Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
plan_content | Keyword ideas for one of the user's sites, to decide what to write next: real monthly search volume, keyword difficulty and intent from DataForSEO, in the site's country and language. Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
keyword_metrics | Monthly search volume, keyword difficulty, cost per click and intent for up to 50 keywords (DataForSEO), in one of the user's sites' country and language. Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
plan_free_tools | Free tool ideas for one of the user's sites: small single-purpose tools its buyers search for by name (a checker, generator, calculator, converter or template), with real monthly searches, difficulty and intent from DataForSEO in the site's country and language. Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
build_brief | Everything needed to write one article for one of the user's sites: the target keyword's search volume and difficulty, the pages ranking for it now (titles and URLs to read and beat), questions and related searches people use, the site's own pages to link to, its articles on nearby topics (so you don't repeat them), its product facts and tone, and the rules publish_article enforces. Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
check_draft | Runs every check publish_article enforces on a draft article for one of the user's sites, without publishing anything: title, meta description and slug length, word count, headings, the opening answer paragraph, FAQs, links to the site's real pages, cited sources that load, duplicate and title overlap with the site's existing articles, unsourced statistics, hype words and stale years. Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
publish_article | Publishes an article to one of the user's sites through its connected CMS (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Wix, Ghost, Notion, GitHub, a webhook or the LaunchRanked hosted blog). Not in ChatGPT. | Needs sign-in |
SEO Skills
Write and publish with your own AI
Your assistant writes the articles. LaunchRanked gives it real keyword data, a brief, Autopilot's quality checks and publishing to your CMS at a safe pace. $7.50/mo billed yearly, or $9 monthly, or included with Autopilot.
- Add your site in the dashboard and connect where to publish in its Settings: WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Wix, Ghost, Notion, GitHub, a webhook, or our hosted blog.
- Plan.
plan_contentreturns keyword ideas with search volume, difficulty and intent, leaving out topics your site already covers. - Brief.
build_briefshows what ranks now, the questions people search, your pages to link and the rules the article has to meet. - Write and check. Your assistant writes from the brief and the pages it reads, then runs
check_draftuntil it passes: length, headings, links to your real pages, sources that load, duplicates and hype words. - Publish.
publish_articleruns the checks again, refuses a draft that fails, and schedules it for your site’s next slot (new domains publish slowly on purpose). It appears in your calendar, where you can move or delete it.

Use LaunchRanked to plan three articles for example.com, write the best one, check it until it passes, and show it to me before publishing. Each month SEO Skills includes 30 content plans, 100 keyword lookups, 30 briefs and 30 published articles, reset on the 1st (UTC). Draft checks have only the per-minute fair-use limit. A free account gets 2 plans, 10 keyword lookups and 2 briefs to try it; publishing needs SEO Skills or Autopilot. A shared site uses its owner’s plan. A first SEO Skills subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. During the trial: 2 content plans, 10 keyword lookups, 2 briefs and 2 published articles. The full allowance starts with your first payment.
Free tools. plan_free_tools finds small tools your buyers search for by name, such as a checker, generator or calculator, with search volume and difficulty, and saves them to your site’s Free tools page. It uses one of the month’s content plans. In Claude Code, the plugin’s free-tool skill builds the one you pick in your codebase and checks the live page.
These tools work in Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other MCP clients. They aren’t in ChatGPT yet.

Fair-use limits
The checks have the same fair-use limits as the free tools on this site: a few runs per minute per person, and no daily cap. If you hit one, wait a minute and try again.
Domain Rating lookups (not available in ChatGPT) are counted per day: 25 domains on a free account and 250 on Autopilot, reset at midnight UTC. A lookup that fails doesn’t count.
The writing tools count per month instead; see SEO Skills above. A call that fails or is refused doesn’t count.
Privacy and security
What we receive and keep
We receive the tool inputs your assistant sends: URLs and domains to check, and for directory matching a short product description. From ChatGPT we also receive an anonymised user id, which we hash and use only in memory, to apply the per-minute limits. We never ask for passwords or API keys inside a conversation.
Signing in gives the app access to your LaunchRanked account: the checks, your sites’ data and, on sites you can edit, publishing through the writing tools. Drafts you only check aren’t stored. Disconnect an app or revoke a key any time in your account. Details are in our privacy policy. Questions: support.
