Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and JustMarkdown ("we", "us") governing your access to and use of the JustMarkdown website, editor, conversion routes, and related APIs (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms were last updated on the date shown above and are effective from the effective date shown above. We may revise them as described in the "Changes to These Terms" section.
Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer
Some routes use AI models to summarize, translate, answer questions, or convert content. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated output before relying on, publishing, or distributing it.
We do not guarantee that AI output is correct, current, or fit for any particular purpose. You must not use AI output as a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise).
Access and Use
Access rights
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.
Account responsibilities
- Keep your account credentials confidential and secure
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use or security breach
- You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction
Prohibited conduct
- Using the Service to process content you do not have the right to use, upload, or store
- Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code or model weights
- Interfering with, overloading, or disrupting the Service or its infrastructure
- Circumventing rate limits, access controls, or usage quotas
- Using the Service to build a competing product or to scrape training data at scale
Your Content and Permissions
Responsibility for your content
You are solely responsible for the files, links, prompts, and text you submit, and for ensuring you have all rights needed to process, store, convert, and export them.
Ownership
You retain all rights, title, and interest in your content. We do not claim ownership of your inputs or outputs.
License to us
You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to operate the features you request — for example, to convert a file, render an export, or run a chat completion — and to retain it as needed to provide the Service. This license ends when your content is deleted according to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.
Content restrictions
You must not submit content that is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or violates the Usage Policy. We may remove or restrict access to content that we believe breaches these Terms.
Subscription, Credits, and Refund Policy
Some features may require a paid subscription or credits. When paid features are enabled, the following terms apply.
- Payments are processed by Waffo; we do not store full card details on our servers.
- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. To cancel or change your plan, contact support and we will stop future renewals; there is no self-service cancellation portal. Some regional plans (for example, the CNY WeChat Pay plan) are one-time purchases that do not auto-renew.
- Credits are consumed when a paid action runs and are non-refundable once used, except where required by law.
- Refunds for unused subscription periods are handled case-by-case — email hi@justmarkdown.com with your transaction details within a reasonable time of the charge.
- We may change fees with reasonable advance notice; any change applies only to future billing periods.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, text, branding, and documentation, is owned by JustMarkdown and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding, trademarks, or underlying code except as needed to use the Service as intended.
Term and Termination
These Terms are effective while you use the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your activity creates risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue a feature or the Service.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — remain in effect.
Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Using the Service means you also accept the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that conversion or AI output will be accurate or complete. You use the Service at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will JustMarkdown be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or content, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you have not paid us, to a nominal amount. This limit applies even if a remedy fails its essential purpose.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to JustMarkdown as the service operator, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You and we agree to try to resolve disputes informally first by contacting hi@justmarkdown.com.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled in the courts of the jurisdiction where JustMarkdown operates. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusions above, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
