This was my experience, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking with them.
We booked through Booking.com, but unfortunately received no support when things went wrong.
When we arrived to collect the car, we were told that the vehicle we had booked was unavailable and that only SUVs were left. We were advised to take one, despite being told that the roads around Brindisi are very narrow and an SUV was far from ideal.
There was no member of staff available to inspect the vehicle with us before we drove away. Instead, we were handed a sheet showing existing damage, but it did not accurately reflect the condition of the car.
On returning the vehicle, a member of staff immediately began inspecting it using a large measuring gauge and pointed out tiny marks on the sides of the car that appeared consistent with light contact from roadside vegetation. We were then presented with a bill for â¬1,300 for alleged damage.
In my opinion, the whole process felt designed to generate damage charges rather than provide fair customer service. Based on my experience, I would never use this company again and would strongly recommend that others take photographs and videos of every inch of the vehicle before leaving the rental office if they choose to rent from them.

Naam boeking (via Booking) komt niet oevereen dus auto krijg je niet mee, geld krijg je niet terug en je bent ook een uur te laat. Dankjewel Julia van Ecovia voor deze klap in je gezicht service. Het kwam zelfs niet bij de baliemedewerkster op om even mee te denken. Dit bedrijf is top van oplichting en mensonwaardig gedrag, moet ermee stoppen en zal na nog meer van deze reviews ook gaan stoppen hoop ik van harte. Dit moet anderen bespaart blijven. Geen zaken mee doen, scam.

This has been the worst car rental experience I have encountered.
I returned the vehicle in excellent condition, yet I have since received a claim charge of â¬407 for alleged 4.5cm line scratch on the front bumper that was already present on the vehicle when I collected it. Fortunately, I took photographs at the time of collection, which clearly show the pre-existing damage. Despite providing this evidence, the company appeared more focused on processing payment from my card than fairly reviewing the facts presented.
The collection and return process is also inconvenient. Customers are required to take a shuttle from the airport departure area and travel a considerable distance outside the city to reach the rental office, which adds unnecessary complexity and inconvenience to the journey.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise travellers to exercise caution when renting from this company. There are far more reputable providers available, and I will certainly be using companies such as Avis Budget Group in the future rather than independent operators promoted through airline booking channels.
For anyone travelling to Italy and considering a rental through this provider, I would recommend researching alternative options before booking.
NB: You will not be able to contact the Customer care team to talk to someone human that will be willing to hear your perspective. All you can do is send an email.

Esperienza estremamente negativa
Esperienza estremamente negativa. Sono arrivata con circa due ore di ritardo rispetto allâorario previsto per il ritiro dellâauto, ma la prenotazione era ancora valida. Mi Ú stato però rifiutato il noleggio perché, invece di una carta di credito tradizionale, possedevo una Postepay Evolution, che Ú stata considerata una carta di debito.
Per cercare di risolvere la situazione, ho proposto di noleggiare lâauto intestandola a unâaltra persona presente con me, in possesso di unâaltra carta di credito. Anche questa soluzione Ú stata respinta con la motivazione che la carta non riportava il nome e il cognome stampati sul fronte, nonostante fosse perfettamente funzionante e intestata al proprietario.
Il risultato Ú stato che, dopo un lungo viaggio e con due bambini al seguito, siamo rimasti senza auto e senza alcuna disponibilità da parte del personale nel trovare una soluzione alternativa. Avrei apprezzato maggiore flessibilità , disponibilità e attenzione verso il cliente, soprattutto considerando le circostanze.
Purtroppo, per la mia esperienza, il servizio Ú stato molto deludente e non mi sento di consigliarlo.
conflicting and misleading info on need for international permit
I booked Ecovia in Palermo through Booking.com. When I arrived, I was told that by law I could not drive without an international permit and when I checked with Booking, I was told that it was my responsibility to find this out. Since the booking was already paid, I could not get my money back. Yet when I went to the airport to pick up a car I was able to book, no questions, without an international permit. What a scam!
un'ora e mezza per ritirare la macchina a Fiumicino

Prenotazione effettuata online via Easyjet. Ritiro previsto il 26 Giugno alle 18 presso l'aeroporto di Fiumicino. Essendo l'aereo in ritardo, provo a chiamare il telefono indicato diverse volte ma nessuna risposta. Arriviamo alle 19 al punto di ritiro, dove una sola persona al banco e' presente, davanti a me due persone. Alle 20 (dopo un ora) sono ancora in attesa del mio turno. Arrivato il mio turno verso le 20,15 (dopo un ora e un quarto), la commessa mi dice che l aprenotazione e' annullata perche' non ho avvisato del ritardo. Protesto. La signora recupera la prenotazione, ma fa notare che la carta con la quale ho prenotato la vettura non e' una carta di credito, quindi devo pagare l'assicurazione nuovamente (100 euro in piu'). a nulla vale la carta di credito di mia moglie, perche' la prenotazione e' a mio nome. Imparo che non bisogna mai affidarsi a brokers online via easyjet per prenotare pacchetti assicurativi, ma un ora e mezza di attesa per ritirare la vettura e' inaccettabile (con due bimbi piccoli) pertanto non prenotero' piu' con questa azienda.
Ritirata la macchina, purtroppo non avevo controllato se effettivamente 'e stata consegnata con il pieno, e mi ritrovo dopo circa 300 chilometri gia' in riserva. L'autonomia della macchina sarebbe dovuta essere di 625 chilometri.

à mon arrivée, l'agence a refusé de me remettre le véhicule pourtant réservé et intégralement payé. Le personnel n'a fait aucun effort pour rechercher une solution ou proposer une alternative. Je me suis retrouvé sans voiture à l'aéroport et j'ai dû louer en urgence un autre véhicule, ce qui m'a coûté prÚs de 700 ⬠supplémentaires, en plus des 595,90 ⬠déjà payés pour cette réservation.
Je regrette également le manque d'écoute, le manque d'empathie et le peu de considération dont j'ai fait l'objet. Si vous réservez avec cette agence, vérifiez trÚs attentivement les conditions de location avant votre départ afin d'éviter une situation similaire.
Enfin, inutile de répondre à cet avis par un message automatique indiquant que vous êtes désolés de mon expérience. Je préférerais que ce temps soit consacré à examiner sérieusement mon dossier et à trouver une solution concrÚte pour rembourser une prestation qui ne m'a jamais été fournie.

I booked a rental car through Booking.com with Ecovia Rent a Car at Bologna Airport. Unfortunately, my flight was delayed. Keep in mind i did wrote my flight number for them so they could see if my flight was delayed. When I finally arrived at the airport, all rental offices were closed, making it impossible for me to collect the vehicle I had already paid for.
That night I called them like 50 times no one answered, i picked a taxi and went to a hotel also in the morning I picked a taxi again and went to the airport to talk to them and get the car.
Despite the fact that the delay was beyond my control and I had notified them in advance, my reservation was treated as a no-show and my refund request was denied. As a result, my family and I were left without transportation and had to spend a significant amount of money on alternative travel arrangements and other unexpected expenses.
I find it unfair that I was charged for a service that was never provided. The lack of flexibility, poor customer service, and refusal to consider the circumstances have been extremely frustrating.
I would not recommend this experience to other travelers and hope the company reviews its policies and treats customers more fairly when flight delays occur.
Also booking.com didnt care to help me so they dissapointed me also.

I do not recommend using the service provider Ecovia. Days before arrival at the Sicilian airport I reserved the car and paid the full insurance wich secure the car fully. I paid around 60 euro for the whole thing before. When I got to the airportâs office the guy (very mean) informed me that they not support to use debit cards (Revolut) which was used to pay before, and they will not give me the car with that condition. The one way to finally get the car was to pay twice more for the same thing. I was required to pay additional for their insurance 280⬠(for 4 days xdddd), deposit 300⬠and the rest for the rent. When I finally received the car, I realized that the car is not what I reserved by website. I wanted to have Peugeot 3008 which I confirmed and paid, but I got Chinese BYD which was hit hard from each site. Thatâs the worst place to rent a something. Boycott THIS PLACE.

Du vol ! Mes beaux-parents ont réservé une fiat 500 ou équivalent manuelle avec une assurance supplémentaire via booking. On leur a d'abord dit qu'il n'y avait pas de voiture manuelle et qu'ils n'auraient qu'une automatique. Ils ne savent pas conduire ce genre de voiture et on leur a dit d'aller dans une autre agence alors que c'est payé ! J'ai du appeler booking , ils ont contacté l'agence, suite à quoi, comme par hasard, ecovia a trouvé une manuelle pour mes parents. Sauf qu'ils demandent 1300e d'assurance car ce n'est pas la même chose que l'assurance de booking soi-disant. C'est abusif et quand ils ont refusé, le vehicule qu'écovia leur a donné est un ford tournéo, un utilitaire qu'ils ne savent pas manÅuvrer et qui n'est pas du tout ce qu'ils avaient réservé, dangereux pour eux qui sont âgés  ! L'homme qui leur a laissé les clés a refusé de leur montrer comment il fonctionnait. C'est de l'escroquerie pure et dure

Durch den Vulkan wurde unser Flug umgeleitet und wir sind in Palermo gelandet statt in Catania. Durch den Transfer von Flughafen zu Flughafen, kamen wir 4 Stunden zu spÀt zum Abholtermin. Dies ist natÃŒrlich nicht unsere Schuld und der Transfer dauert halt. Man sagt uns vor Ort, unser Auto wÀre reserviert gewesen aber sie haben es vergeben da wir nicht pÃŒnktlich vor Ort waren, obwohl sie davon wussten das unser Flug umgeleitet worden ist. Nach langer Diskussion, mussten wir fÃŒr 180⬠ein Fahrzeug nehmen was noch da war, wir aber nicht wollten. Das Geld war natÃŒrlich vom dem Fahrzeug vorher schon bezahlt und hÀtte man auch nicht zurÃŒck bekommen. Ich denke diese Art ist eine Masche, natÃŒrlich wollten sie noch einen Versicherung abschlieÃen obwohl ich die Allianz premium abgeschlossen habe online. Finger weg von dem Laden, sofern man 60 Minuten zu spÀt ist, wird das Auto vergeben und es wird einem ein anderes Auto angedreht.

Avevo regolarmente prenotato un seggiolino per un bambino di un anno insieme al noleggio dellâauto. Al momento del ritiro del veicolo, tuttavia, mi Ú stato comunicato che non vi era alcun seggiolino disponibile.
Si tratta di una mancanza gravissima: non solo il seggiolino era stato prenotato in anticipo, ma la sua assenza avrebbe messo a rischio la sicurezza di un neonato e mi avrebbe costretto a circolare in violazione della legge. Quando ho fatto presente la serietà della situazione, il personale non ha mostrato alcuna reale disponibilità a trovare una soluzione. Al contrario, le due dipendenti presenti si sono dimostrate poco professionali, prive di empatia e con un atteggiamento quasi sarcastico, suggerendomi semplicemente di recarmi presso il negozio per neonati più vicino e acquistare personalmente un seggiolino nuovo.
Ritengo inaccettabile che una compagnia di autonoleggio confermi un servizio essenziale per la sicurezza di un bambino e poi, al momento del ritiro, non sia in grado di garantirlo né di proporre unâalternativa adeguata. Ancora più grave Ú stato il modo in cui la situazione Ú stata gestita dal personale.
Per questi motivi, sconsiglio vivamente Autovia/Ecovia a chiunque, soprattutto a famiglie con bambini piccoli. Un servizio del genere Ú indice di scarsa organizzazione, poca professionalità e totale mancanza di attenzione verso le esigenze e la sicurezza dei clienti.

Their trick is to accept your prepayment in full (on same credit card), then refuse to honour the car rental when yiu collect the car because your credit card only has your initial and surname as opposed to your first name in full. Then they refuse a full refund and rent out the car to otjer people. Scam. Julia at the service desk is completely unprofessional and was shouting at customers

Avoid at all cost. When they did pick up the phone the customer service just told me to "talk to the broker" and hing up and never picked up again. Ryanair got me set up with them. Emded up with no moneyand no car and no way to pick it up because my flight was landing 20 minites after their office closed. Of course no info from Ryanair about that. And no way to pick up the car the next day.
