CELINVA's advertising is misleading - cannot return product
CELINVA's advertising is misleading and inconsistent with its published return policy.
I purchased the cushion because the website prominently advertised a "60-Day Money-Back Guarantee," "60-Day Trial," "60 Days Return for Refund," and "Easy Returns." These statements reasonably led me to believe I could try the product and return it within 60 days if it did not meet my expectations.
When I received the cushion, I removed it from the packaging and sat on it one time. It immediately became clear that it was not supportive and did not perform as advertised.
When I reviewed the return policy, I discovered it states that used personal-care items, including cushions, are not eligible for return. However, the website also instructs customers that it may take 7-14 days to adjust to the cushion and experience its benefits. A customer cannot evaluate the product for 7-14 days without using it, yet using it appears to eliminate the ability to return it. These statements directly contradict one another.
The return policy also states that the advertised "60-Day Trial" applies only to defective products, shipping damage, incorrect items, or manufacturing defects. It specifically excludes returns because the product is uncomfortable, lacks support, or fails to provide the advertised benefits. Those limitations are not clearly disclosed where the website advertises the 60-day guarantee.
I relied on the company's advertising when making my purchase. Had the website clearly explained that the "60-Day Money-Back Guarantee" was limited primarily to defective merchandise, I would not have purchased the product.
