Gwoyeu Romatzyh (writing systems)
I was initially contacted about the Gwoyeu Romatzyh article by User:Ikiroid, who made some valuable suggestions. He also suggested you might be able to help in bringing the article up to GA or FA status. Not having heard back from him for a couple of weeks, I thought I'd establish contact with you directly.
I'd appreciate any comments you might have. --NigelG (or Ndsg) | Talk 11:50, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Your monobook
Hi. I am not sure what caused the problem but your monobook page is categorized in Category:Egypt stubs. Please fix this. Thank you. --Meno25 08:11, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank You All
As you all know, some hacker cracked my password and I have been stripped of my admin powers. I can understand an admin. being blocked, but stripped of his powers without a fair hearing or consensus, I can't. I have stated that I changed my password and would like my powers back, however the chastizing going on in [[1]] has sadden me. It doesn't matter how many articles you have written, contributions you have made or how many years you have dedicated to making this project a credible one. A hacker, it seems has the power of making people consider you an untrustful person and turning some people in the community against you.
I have never abused of my powers and I have used Wikipedia as a medium to educate others. Yes, I have no regrets about having made so many contributions to the Pedia. I exhort all of my friends here to make sure that their passwords are strong ones so that you will not have to go through what I am going through.
I did promise some of my friends a couple of articles and as a good Marine I will keep my promise. To my friends here, Thank you for your friendship. Tony the Marine 00:07, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:800px-Metrocop GScott.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:800px-Metrocop GScott.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:05, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Who is Johnny the Vandal? His LTA page was deleted, and it was said that Mike Garcia had admitted to being him. Hephaestos said something about Johnny the Vandal, DenyRecognition, john@freeq.com, and Crass forming in 1976, when they really formed in 1977. I ontacted you, because you're an admin. So, who is this "Johnny"? ionas68224|talk|contribs|email 07:34, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back
Hi Linuxbeak, welcome back. I don't think we interacted before you left, so I guess its "Hello" as well. I saw your message at WP:AN. Not much has manged in terms of crat work while you've been gone, though there is a new page Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations, where users can request to be renamed to an existing username. To qualify the requested username must have no edits, (or sometimes no GFDL signficant edits, e.g. reverted vandalism, adding "Hi, I'm Fred" to their userpage" - that sort of thing) and have existed for at least 6 months. The target account is emailed if possible and has a week to object. After a lot of requests when it was set up its pretty quiet now. Various people worked out some guidelines to present username change practice - they're at WP:CHUG if you want to read up on that. RfA still works (or doesn't, depending on one's perspective) in pretty much the same way. Hope this info is useful. WjBscribe 02:00, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'd say the most significant policy change in recent times has been that Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons has become truly accepted as policy after some contentious battles. There are still disagreements over how it applies to particular cases, but that sort of issue you should be familiar with from plenty of other policies. RfA is still broken yet limping along - or not - depending upon your perspective. Wikipedia still is/is not run by a cabal, etc... The inclusionist/exclusionist debate continues unending. What has really changed is that citing sources has become more important, but this has been a gradual enough shift that it probably began before your departure. WP:CSD is probably worth reviewing before you begin acting in that area, the changes are generally minor but worth noting. GRBerry 02:34, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- One more; if we need to salt a page, we now use cascading protection to protect it fully deleted instead of putting a template on the page and protecting that. See Wikipedia:Protected titles. GRBerry 02:49, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- Welcome back! Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/Archives naturally has a bunch of stories covering the various goings-on over the past year and more. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 02:40, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
And single user login is still "just a couple of weeks away" – Gurch 11:06, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with the above; welcome back Linuxbeak. :) Acalamari 02:23, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Rename archiving
Hi, just a note to say that the Bot that achives the rename requests looks for the templates {{done}} or {{not done}} to determine which archive to put the requests in. It was felt the words themselves can come up too easily in discussion ie. "when this is done", "if this is not done..." etc. WjBscribe 18:59, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks for the tip. Linuxbeak (The cake is a lie!) 19:27, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
roha
hi Alex - I'd like to bring this to your attention, as I see you have some experience dealing with the IP editor who says his name is Hans Rosenthal, aka ROHA. I'd like some wider input on this, beyond being told that his anti-Semitic comment directed at me should be removed and he should just be ignored. Nice to meet you, by the way. Thanks Tvoz |talk 07:27, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Civil Air Patrol
Hi Linuxbreak. You used to be active in the Civil Air Patrol article, and I need your help there. It has been moved to a new name that is entirely inaccurate, the edit history of the article has been left at a second redirect, and all of this was done completely without proposal or discussion. I think this needs to be reverted. I've brought this up at the new (and equally incorrect) talk page at Talk:United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol. --OuroborosCobra (talk) 07:50, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
