- Hey, thanks a lot! Wikipedia is a really cool idea, and I'm happy to contribute my resources to help. It's given me a lot of info, so I think it's only fair that I give back as well!
- Good to hear! Oh, I forgot to mention - you can 'sign' your post with four tildes, like this: ~~~~. Three tildes give you just your name. See you around! Gaurav 14:40, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Vandalism?
[edit]What I did was not vandalism. Most of it consisted of improving the formatting and acknowledging that not only U.S. military counts as military affiliation.
You claim that you have "reported" my edit as vandalism. Would you at least have the courtesy to indicate where you "reported" it, so that I have the chance to respond? -- Jmabel | Talk 02:59, Apr 24, 2005 (UTC)
- Are you saying that adding a section that states your political viewpoints concerning US military involvement, especially in a negative tone, is not vandalism? Are you saying that adding a section (paraphrase "Opposed to Military") inside of a list of military members by branch is not vandalism? Your other edits were fine; your edit that added "MAKE LOVE NOT WAR" was totally unacceptable.
You may find my report at Wikipedia:Vandalism_in_progress. Linuxbeak 03:11, Apr 24, 2005 (UTC)
- The article in question is meant to list Wikipedians in military offices. This would not include "non-combatants" as Jmabel suggested it should. This is currently an issue of POV rather than vandalism. -- Dan Johnson 03:45, 2005 Apr 24 (UTC) revision
No problem. No reason to get into a huff about somthing so trivial. BrokenSegue 03:51, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
You changing a list of hurricane names to a list of sexually inappropriate swear words was vandalism though. So you cannot say that you are completely innocent of it, whether this incident was vandalism or not.
E. Brown, Hurricane enthusiast - Squawk Box 19:32, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Then what's this? [1]
E. Brown, Hurricane enthusiast - Squawk Box 19:49, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
This is confusing. That history page I showed you, doesn't it make it look like you did the vandalism (whether you did or not)? They should change the format of the history pages so it's not so confusing.
E. Brown, Hurricane enthusiast - Squawk Box 19:57, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Fine, you proved your point, you didn't do it. But what I was asking right there was if that history page made it look like you did it. Because it sure had me fooled.
E. Brown, Hurricane enthusiast - Squawk Box 20:03, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Thank You
[edit]Alex, Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just read the message you sent me and you made my day. We have a few things in common. Among them is that I am also a Christian and was in the Civil Air Patrol when I was young. I come from a long line of Marines and that's why I choose that branch. I'll share with you a little something about myself. I was a gang leader (The Vikings) in Queens, New York. Since some of the guys were being sent to Vietnam, we made a pact that if something happened to one of our guys, we would all go and get even. My girlfriends brother became the first soldier from Queens to die in the war and we all (I mean all) volunteered. I was young and proud to serve my country but sometimes things aren't the way people tell you. I was willing to give my life for my country and I'm proud of having been a Marine. I will join the group you mentioned. I'm glad that I found a new friend in you, thank you once more and may God Bless You. Tony the Marine
Thank you for the barnstar, buddy! Tony the Marine
Thank you for removing the images. I know that you think that they are way too many. I put them because I wanted to reflect the events as they happened. You can also see another page I created. This was the one I used as the template: Death and state funeral of Pierre Trudeau. User:SNIyer12
Pandeism vfd
[edit]Please consider framing the basis for your vote on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Pandeism as "non-notable." I believe I have adduced sufficient referential evidence to show that this article was not "original research," but simply a report of a philosophy which, although real, lacks enough adherents/proponents to be notable enough for inclusion. I apologize for having overestimated the importance of this topic. It was, after all, one of my first posts, when I was new to Wikipedia and not yet familiar with the criteria for notability. -- 8^D BD2412gab 05:28, 2005 Apr 29 (UTC)
- On second though, since its very easy for those not acquainted with religous details to confuse "theism" with "deism" - as demonstrated by the fact that most of the non-wiki-mirror references on the web do use pandeism to mean pantheism - a redirect would be useful. -- 8^D BD2412gab 06:42, 2005 Apr 29 (UTC)
- Forget the above. I have found conclusive evidence of the use of the term "Pandeism" dating back to 1833 [2], being used by Godfrey Higgins, a follower of John Toland, the creator of pantheism.[3]. The term is used in a book written by Higgins called the Anacalypsis. -- 8^D BD2412gab 10:27, 2005 Apr 29 (UTC)
- If it's the tripod page that bothers you, then please withhold judgment until someone can check out a print copy of the Anacalypsis. The book, I assure you, is real:Amazon.com page for Anacalypsis. -- 8^D BD2412gab 11:54, 2005 Apr 29 (UTC)
Future Combat Systems
[edit]Yeah, yeah, I'm getting there. Hold your horses. I'll wikify them, and rewrite them. (I already rewrote Future Combat Systems.) The notice {{PD-USGov-Military-Army}} is already there. Do I need more? 216.186.102.83
- I already used {{Army}} before I found the poorly-documented {{PD-USGov-Military-Army}}. Feel free to hijack or delete it. If you think I should be more specific in my attributation, I would welcome a more specific template. 216.186.102.83 00:05, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Aw crud. It is image specific. Shoot. Yeah, I'll change them over. 216.186.102.83 00:11, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
OK, I'm giving it a rest for a while. I've prettied-up two vehicle pages and made a template for them. Also, I've tweaked Template:Army. Wanna give it a check-out? Are there PD questions about the seal that is currently commented out? 216.186.102.83 02:02, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Re Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Prairie school, I don't think anyone's trying to "get out" of anything. Whether grade schools are inherently notable is a long-running debate on Wikipedia. Gazpacho 00:56, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hey, about the structure? I've removed the level "Programs", because it had the sublevels
1. Missions
2. Equipment
3. Members
Not good, right? 2 and 3 aren't programs. It looks logical without it, to me, please check it out!--Bishonen | talk 22:30, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
- Not good, but my fix was worse! I've done it a different way now. Please check! The problems I tried to fix were 1) malformed parallellism in Table of Contents, 2) Too-deep hierarchy (I replaced the most deeply-nested headings with bolding, which means they're now not in the TOC). It looks cool to me like this, see what you think!--Bishonen | talk 22:58, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
- Got to knock off for tonight, sorry; I thought I'd get finished, but time flew, and I'm not. But the article's a real treat, this is fun! I think FAC will be very interested in it, especially because of the lack of Featured articles on remotely similar subjects. If you like, I can give the rest (see edit summaries for where I've been so far) a once-over tomorrow evening my time, after work. That'll be early afternoon for you, I reckon, please let me know if you'll be editing then yourself. --Bishonen | talk 23:53, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

Geo-stubs
[edit]Hi Linuxbeak - just a quick note to say that a lot of countries now have separate geo-stubs, so you can use US-geo-stub if you find any places in the US, for instance (I notice you've done about half a dozen of them in the last day or so) - keep up the good stub sorting work! Grutness|hello? 23:28, 7 May 2005 (UTC)
- Me again - just wondering, since I see you are one of the few people still using {{substub}} what you think of proposals for its demise? There are currently no substubs, since almost everything that was in the category was more likely to be expanded by giving it a more specific stub tempate. Grutness|hello? 05:32, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the Barnstar. I plan to keep up a non-serious move-by-move commentary for this game, probably won't bother for any of the others.-gadfium 03:46, 16 May 2005 (UTC)
- Um... have you taken a look at the VFD recently? I don't think you need to spam other people's user pages; the chess championship appears to be quite safe. --Chanting Fox 03:48, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry... maybe "spam" is too harsh a term in this situation. In fact, it probably isn't even a correct term. Still, my point is that you can stop... I don't think the chess championship is going to be deleted. --Chanting Fox 03:51, 19 May 2005 (UTC)

SCO Group
[edit]Hello Linuxbeak,
I have seen your revert of SCO Group. Doesn't the sentence "August 6, 2004, Novell filed a motion to dismiss the case with prejudice." in the article SCO_v._Novell#The_lawsuit mean, that Novell has given up? So SCO Group did win, didn't they? I hope I didn't make a mistake due to a false friend (I don't speak English mother-tongue). --84.156.80.92 02:21, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
- No, that means that Novell filed a motion asking the judge to dismiss the case permanently, which would mean that Novell would win, if this motion is granted. *Dan* 20:22, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC)
Friend
[edit]Hey, buddy how you doing? I like the picture in your main page. You know you've become one of my BEST FRIENDS here in Wiki. I want to thank you for defending me in the nomination. The main problem has been as you stated, I was totally clueless when I started in Wiki. I didn't know how it worked and at the begining I had some skirmishes, wish eventually were settled when I realized my faults. User "You-know-who" didn't want to bury the hachet and now I believe his intentions are to hurt my nomination chances. I only wish that the voters would judge me by how I've been acting and my dedication to Wiki. One the things that make me happy however, is to have a trooper like you by on my side. Take care Tony the Marine
Hi there!
[edit]Hey Linux, Im Antonio Wulana DREAM Flier Martin, the son of Marine 69-71|my dad. He he. My dad spoke to me about you.
I was impressed with your articles about several airports in the New England area. Specially the one that has a photo of the air strip that I believe you took while landing there. I was able to show dad the difference between a runway that usually accepts jets and one that doesnt and even he recognized the huge difference!
Anyways Im glad you like airplanes. What kind of airplane do you have? Are you planning to be an airline pilot and if so which one? Which is your favorite airplane and airline?
I love aviation and boxing, those are my two main topics here although many times I stray off into other things (see: Parque de Bombas and Orlandito Camacho, for example). I also love pestering airlines at their offices so they can give me free airplane models hehehehe! You can read the list I got already on my user page.
Man, I think you and I will be fantastic friends. I hope so!
Thanks and God bless you! Godspeed! Hope to hear from you soon!
Sincerely yours, your friend Antonio Wings to Fly Martin
Hey man!
[edit]Hey! Whats up? Thanks for your quick response! So youre a Christian, ah? Awesome! I am too, altough a lot of times (like when I visit nude bars) I dont behave like it. When people ask, I always answer every team has it's benchwarmers, I am a benchwarmer, but I am still on Jesus' team!. I converted at the age of fourteen.
Well, I can tell you that I became interested in airplanes after my first flight, from San Juan to Orlando, Florida. It was a Delta Air Lines L-1011, it's from there that Delta is my personal favorite as well as the L-1011s. I was eight then. I can even remember the gentleman on the seat next to the door when I got in and the old stewardess at the airplane that day! lol!!!
I used to go when I was nine virtually every two weekends to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan. Hence, I started that article. Man, I had prime seat. Me and my grandfather found a hole on a roadside next to the beach, that put me right in front of the Delta L-1011 and the Pan Am jets (those two airlines interchanged the same jetway). So I was right there, face to face with Lufthansa, Iberia, Federal Express and what can you name..lol anyways but see I used to think all small airplanes were Cessna and was not interested in military planes at all because, those were seldom seen at Luis Munoz Marin anyways. It has been later that I have learned about the Mooney's, Learjets and Stealths and become interested..LOL!!
And yep I learned the hard way that not all private jets are Cessna's..lol One time I went to see a boy band that I liked (their music) arrive from Mexico at the airport, I thought they would arrive on Mexicana but what a treat! They (airport workers) took the fans to th tarmac where we saw their Cessna land with their name covering it. Later on I learned it was actually a lear jet they used. They had a one song concert at the airport's runway for the fans and left in a helicopter.
Hey one question do you know whats ETOPS and all that stuff? Another question is, I know that a certain lenght is required for jets to land at airports but what do you think that lenght of runway is?
One time my mom and dad were on board an Eastern B727 but the plane had to return to the terminal because, a couple was found in the plane flying on the same route as mom and dad, but on Pan Am!! They were in the wrong airline and airplane! LOL
Ive been on B727,B757, L-1011 (4 times) and the Convair turbo-prop the only turbo prop I could tell apart when I was little. My last flight on the Convair, I was the only one enjoying I had a merry time looking at the houses and cars from my window while everyone else was praying and singing himns for our safe landing as we were in the middle of a thunderstorm, man! lol That was cool. My grandma wa also cool. She still lives and is 83 now and tells me constantly she cant wait to fly again even when her first flight was actually at 63!!
ell buddy, I gotta fly. Check my new aviation article on European Air Charter. Thanks for everything and God bless!
Hope to hear more from you soon!
Sincerely yours, Antonio Air Brain Martin

- May the Tux be with you on the vote. I wouldn't worry too much about Netoholic if I were you; if you want the background, you should read Wikipedia:Requests_for_de-adminship (a proposal that was strongly rejected by consensus) and Wikipedia:Requests_for_de-adminship/Snowspinner (an attempt to use said proposal before it was approved). [edit]Hey, I need your help in configuring my net access on Mandrake 10.1. I have a dual boot system: XP-Mandrake. I use ADSL to connect to the internet. My XP connection is through DHCP via PPPOE. I tried to do the same in Mandrake, it worked, BUT I can access only Mandrake related sites; ie the default links provided by the browsers, & Google, Yahoo etc refuse to open. Since I have connected to the net, I don't believe that it is a network problem, perhaps the OS...? Please help. =Nichalp (Talk)= 14:57, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
- No, its not cached. I checked. I made an account at the Mandriva site & it worked when I accessed it through Windows. I don't think my ISP is to blame, afterall I get access without a hitch here on Win. I tried it on Epiphany, Konquerer and Mozilla and got the same result. =Nichalp (Talk)= 17:43, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
No Problem man
[edit]Hey Linux: I went to your RfA page. I commented on the Smucky claim and I dont know what this person was thinking about. The Civil Air Patrol is a fine tool that we can count on, I can tell you that!
Did you hear about the Korean Air 747 that was taken by Narita International Airport because a suspected terrorist was aboard it and it was a flight from Seoul to San Francisco? How about the Virgin Atlantic A340 that was transported by the Canadian Air Force to Halifax because a passenger opened an exit door en route from Manchester, England to New York?
Weird things happening indeed.
God bless you!
Sincerely yours, Antonio Commander 1 Martin hehe
Thanks
[edit]Hi, W!
I know this is going to sound weird, but thanks for your vote on my RfA. Yes, I know you voted oppose, but I appreciate actually having someone vote and give a valid, viable reason why. I understand your concern with the speedy tags; in fact, I admit that I was much too liberal in my usage of them. The CAP incident itself was extremely hairy, but I should mention that it was my commander, not myself, who originally blanked the article. If you read my response to the third oppose vote, you will see that I was distraught when I did in fact blank the article for the second time. It was hard, especially seeing that I brought that article up from crappy to featured status. But, I'm not here to give you a sob story. :-) I appreciate and honor the vote, and I thank you for your insight. Linuxbeak | Talk | Desk 00:32, Jun 5, 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the (re)explanation of the timeline, it does make slightly more sense now. I'd say I'd vote for you if you reapply in a few months, but I don't think that'll be necessary. Anyway, keep up the good work and good luck! --W(t) 00:38, 2005 Jun 5 (UTC)

[edit]Don't worry and be patient. Maintain your coolness under fire and you'll make it. You're on your way to becoming an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. [edit]Well I'm thinking of organising some sort of closing ceremony when the tournament ends, although that may be quite far off, something like an online award presentation complete with community comments, etc...seeing from Game 2 and other demonstrations of your poetry skills, I'm asking you if you can come up with something (not immediately, its still quite far off) to add in closure? -- Natalinasmpf 16:09, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit]I read your line just right before I blocked Block Me-if you got the guts (talk · contributions)... it was in my head so I thought it was a little appropriate :-) Zzyzx11 (Talk) 22:49, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)
In answer to your query...
[edit]User:TUF-KAT has stalked any edit of mine he feels like reverting, because he doesn't like the fact that I challenge his racist POV on Country music. Neither of us has fully rebutted the other's arguments. He hasn't refuted several individual arguments of mine by even addressing them, whilst he wishes for me to search for online or ISBN evidence in my favour that is most likely going to be considered White "racism" against Blacks. But you see, he is Afrocentric and I don't like these games of bait and switch. My preference is probably what the media has blacklisted and branded as unacceptable propaganda against Blacks, although the media was the one backing the revisionists to make way for the Great Society and changed historical appearances to their POV accordingly. I speak from the heart and mind in the context of pre-1965 tones about politics, religion, music, economy, immigration and many other "controversial" subjects. I don't turn over like a leaf and pass away my beliefs simply because the elite media and public activists have decided to force a new lifestyle in my affairs against my will. If anything, I would request a balanced article with both views present...pre-1965 and post-1965. Since I am to be fair for diplomatic reasons, I request that neither one be given an appearance of "superiority". It really is in the perceptions of those partisanly in a fundamental disagreement. While this guy who is arguing with me over how Blacks deserve extra-credit for what they did not originate, my poor White Cracker family from Eastern Kentucky is still suffering a stigma for enslaving Blacks they never owned. You just tell me how fair that is, instead of strategically in the Black race's favour. My family barely has a life to live beyond working day in and day out, while this punk here wants to approve what was accepted totally theirs for centuries as somehow the Blacks'! I don't believe this shit and I never will. All I know, is that people are whimsically and prejudicially hating on my background and lifting Blacks up in self-righteous reverse discrimination. Please help us out and allow a fair and balanced article to come of this. See Talk:Country music for an overview of the argument. ScapegoatVandal 14:57, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
