    In an interaction with Kshitij Anand of ETMarkets, Saurabh Prasad, Head – Research Centre at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, said large caps are now more reasonably valued relative to growth stocks, while the premium commanded by small caps may be difficult to sustain given their more volatile earnings momentum.

    ICICI Prudential AMC promoter Prudential Corporation plans to sell up to 2% stake, worth over Rs 3,185 crore, to meet minimum public shareholding requirements. The sale will reduce promoter holding to 85.6%. Shares of ICICI Prudential AMC have gained over 22% in 2026, while Q1 net profit rose 23% year-on-year to Rs 965 crore.

    Tyagi, however, remains cautious on pockets of the mid- and small-cap universe, where valuations are above long-term averages. He sees large caps as relatively more attractive on valuations, while advocating selective, bottom-up stock-picking in the broader market. Edited Excerpts
