After BJP exit, actor-turned politician Devan eyes Vijay's TVK
Actor-turned politician Devan is planning to join the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), headed by Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay. Devan, who recently announced his decision to quit the BJP and resign as the party’s Kerala state vice-president, citing ideological differences and disagreements with the state leadership, told TOI that two TVK functionaries had visited his house in Chalakkudy two days ago and held detailed discussions with him. He claimed that the functionaries had come with a proposal to entrust him with the task of forming the TVK’s Kerala unit and had suggested that he head the organisation. “I had a video conversation with some of the top functionaries of TVK that day,” he said.
