I signed up, verified my email, and expected to use the Free plan. Instead, I got this message when I logged in:
"Thank you for signing up! Your account has been successfully created, but unfortunately, we have not been able to verify it to provide access to the Free plan. You can still access your account and benefit from all Hunter's features by choosing a subscription."
This was really frustrating. I followed every step, but I was still denied access to the Free plan without any explanation. It just feels like you're being pushed towards a paid subscription. A clear reason for the decision and a way to appeal it would make for a much better experience.

I used Hunter.io to verify email addresses. Once Hunter verified a list of 70 odd email ids I sent cold emails on the verified ones. However, many emails still bounced. Therefore, I can assume that the algorithm used isn't exactly fool-proof.

Looking at your bulk verifier results, more than half of the email addresses came back as "accept-all." Accept-all domains are configured to accept every incoming message at the server level, which means we cannot individually verify whether a specific address is valid or not.
We always share this status transparently so you can decide whether to include those contacts based on your own sending reputation and risk tolerance.

Issue resolved, please update website interface
I tried to switch from a Data Platform plan to a monthly All-in-One plan, followed the support instructions exactly, and somehow ended up being directed to buy more Data Platform credits instead of actually switching plans.
When I raised the issue, the support bot admitted the checkout I landed on would not change my plan, then told me monthly All-in-One switching is not self-serve and requires team help. So I was guided into the wrong purchase flow, charged for something I did not intend to buy, and then told subscriptions are non-refundable.
This was extremely frustrating. The system is confusing, the support flow is broken, and customers should not be sent to a checkout that buys extra credits when they are trying to change plans. I’m now stuck asking for both a refund and a manual plan switch.
Very disappointing experience.
UPDATE: FROM Giovanni. Thank you for reaching out. I've reviewed your account and I'm happy to make an exception and refund both payments, and switch you to a monthly [Starter / All-in-One] plan.
I did want to clarify what happened: the Data Platform plan you were on is a yearly subscription designed for dedicated API users, and plan changes from yearly billing to monthly aren't available self-serve: they always require our team to step in.
The checkout you landed on was for additional Data Platform credits, which is a separate purchase. I understand that flow wasn't immediately clear, and I'm sorry for the confusion.
What I have done:
refunded both payments you made (you should have received a confirmation email)
applied a Monthly Starter plan (49USD/month) to your account
