Known issues

Below are the know issues while upgrading to Fedora 42:

  • PostgreSQL 16: Upstream started obsoleting our packages. Currently PostgreSQL 16 is the only affected package. To tackle the problem we released pgdg-fedora-repo-42.0-39 which sets the priority of our repo to highest.
  • Citus for PostgreSQL 14: The latest version of Citus dropped support for PostgreSQL 14 between Fedora 41 and Fedora 42. Please upgrade to a more recent PostgreSQL version first and then remove Citus 14 RPM.
  • GDAL 3.9: GDAL 3.9 cannot be compiled on this platform, so please remove it on the current platform before upgrading to Fedora 42.
  • libfq (and firebird_fdw: libfq cannot be compiled on Fedora 42. That also affects firebird_fdw.
  • ODBC: ODBC driver cannot be compiled on Fedora 42.
  • pg_activity: We can build pg_activity on this platform, but it cannot be installed because of the mismatching python3-humanize version. Working on to resolve this issue.
  • pgPool: pgPool cannot be compiled on this platform yet. Will wait for upstream to fix
  • PROJ: Related Fedora 42 packages are built against PROJ 9.6. Still we built 9.5 RPMs for convenience.
  • plpgsql_check, pgsodium for PostgreSQL 13: These packages dropped PostgreSQL 13 support between Fedora 41 and Fedora 42.

Please report any packaging related errors to us.
