Hi Monique!

It looks like reservations for the World of Color Dessert Party are still available through June 16 (which is the furthest that dining reservations currently go out to), so we think showtimes just haven't populated yet. We'd expect that World of Color likely won't go under refurb until after the 70th ends on Aug. 9.

Hi! When checking dining reservations, I noticed that Blue Bayou has dates in May 2026 where the dining was unavailable, not already book, but with a slash through the date-unavailable. Do you know if that means Pirates will be closed? I haven’t seen anything…hmmmm…

Last week, (Feb 18, 2026), Haunted Mansion was closed. I thought it was only going to be closed a couple of weeks in January to take down Christmas decor. When will it reopen?

Hi TMunoz!

The Haunted Mansion reopened Jan. 23, after taking down its holiday overlay, and has been open since then — but it sounds like you may have caught it during an unexpected temporary closure! Sometimes rides are temporarily closed for short or long periods throughout the day and are noted as "Temporarily Closed" on the app, but they usually reopen later. If they are under refurbishment, they are noted as "Closed for Refurbishment." As of now, Haunted Mansion is back open.

Hi TN Traveler!

Based on refurbishment history for Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land, there hasn't been a consistent schedule to expect a specific time, so unfortunately, we can't say for certain that it will remain open for all of September, but chances are relatively good that it will stay open. Last year, there was a month-long refurbishment from mid-August to mid-September, but that was the longest refurbishment the ride has had within the past five years. Otherwise, there was also a previous two-week refurbishment in August 2023, but it did not extend into September. Unless announced in advance, the Disneyland calendar populates about 6-8 weeks in advance at a time, so we'd recommend checking back as it gets closer to your trip.

Hi Karli!

We typically keep our Refurb posts fresh on a weekly basis (in fact, just updated today!) based on updates we see on the official Disney calendars. As of now, the Disneyland calendar only goes as far out as Jan. 26, 2026 (at the time of writing — and this is also why some say TBD for reopening dates), so we don't know if Big Thunder will close in February. (But also, we want to point out that the Disney World version is closed, as it's been undergoing a lengthy refurbishment and is expected to reopen sometime this spring — see those Refurbs here.) Haunted Mansion does undergo a refurbishment to remove the holiday overlay, but it looks like it will only be from Jan. 12-22, 2026. As always, refurbishments are subject to change, so we recommend hopping back as it gets closer to your trip for the latest updates!

Hi Jamie!

It's usually sometime around mid or late October until Holiday Time starts (this year, Holiday Time begins Nov. 14, 2025). Then, it will close either right after Holiday Time ends (Jan. 7, 2026) or a few weeks later, depending on refurb schedules. They might remove the layover for "it's a small world" before Haunted Mansion — or vice versa.

At this current time, the Disneyland Railroad does not have any scheduled refurbishments. Normally, the Disneyland schedule goes out as far as six weeks in advance, and because we don't see any closures, the chances are lower for a last-minute refurb. That said, closures and refurbs are always subject to change. Hi! We are going to Disneyland and our last day is the day before Space Mountain will be opening. We know that it is planned to reopen September 5th, but what are the odds of it a day or two early?

Hi Kristy!

Dates for refurbishments are always subject to change, but we can't guarantee it'd open earlier than what's currently scheduled.

Any chance it’s a small world and jungle cruise will have the holiday overlay and be open 11/15 or 11/16 from previous experience? We know holidays start 11/15. Thank you!

Hi Nick!

The calendar is now showing that Jungle Cruise will reopen Oct. 4. We still don't know the reopening date for "it's a small world" (the calendar only shows as far as Oct. 8 at the time of writing), but it will likely be open once Holiday Time starts Nov. 15. We update this post weekly and will be sure to note a reopening date once confirmed on the calendar.

Hi Robert!

Haunted Mansion is currently open as Haunted Mansion Holiday! However, the Disneyland Railroad is still undergoing a refurbishment and we do not know a reopening date yet — the calendar is showing it closed through Oct. 2 and that's as far out as the calendar goes, at the time of writing.

Hi James!

Over the weekend from the D23 event, we just learned that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open Nov. 15, 2024! Because of this transformation, Critter Country — which will also be changing its name to Bayou Country — has been under construction. This area includes The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes and the shops/dining locations. We have not been given a reopening date for those, but we would expect it's the same date, or shortly before Tiana's opening date. Once confirmed, we will update this post. Some attractions listed currently have "TBD" because we can only see the refurbishment calendar as far out as Sept. 23, at the time of writing. (Generally, you can see these calendar events up to six weeks in advance.) So far, no other refurbishments have been announced for October, but we'd encourage you to check back as it gets closer in case anything changes.

Hi Anthony!

Pirates of the Caribbean is back open after a brief refurbishment from July 29 to Aug. 1, 2024. Indiana Jones Adventure is now showing unavailable from Sept. 9 to 13, 2024. Space Mountain will be closed from Aug. 5 to Sept. 5, 2024. (It is not closing permanently, though it's worth noting you may have been mixed up with Space Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland, which recently closed for major updates and won't reopen until 2027.)

Hi. We are planning our trip for last week of August 2025. Just wondering what rides would be closed at this time for refurbishing or decorating for Halloween?

Hi Lisa!

It's too far out to confirm any refurbishments or closures. Historically speaking, Haunted Mansion closes for its Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. This year, the timeline was a bit different since the ride was undergoing a months-long refurbishment. For next year, it will depend on when Halloween Time starts. This year, it's starting earlier than ever on Aug. 23, 2024. If Halloween Time starts just as early next year, it could be possible that Haunted Mansion Holiday will be open by the time you visit. But if starts in September, it may be closed. Other ride refurbishments won't be announced until it gets closer to that time.

Do you think they’ll close Tianna’s (old splash down) for maintenance/refurb in Jan/feb of this year? With it only being newly opened? I’m going in early Feb and so want to ride this.

Any current news? I’m reading elsewhere that Space Mountain will be closed again on August 5th with no reopening date…what are the chances of it reopening by August 19th? Haha just wishful hoping, I can only afford one day at Disney with my kids and it’s one of our top favorite two rides.

Will the Haunted Mansion definitely be open by the second week of September? I know it’s been closed for quite awhile and with Halloween decorations being put up, I’m wondering if I’ll be there too early.

Hi Heidi!

We still don't have a 100% confirmed reopening date. So far, we know that Disney Parks Blog has shared that it will open "just in time for the fall season" and it will operate with a virtual queue when it reopens. We'll be sure to update this post once we know for certain!

Hi Anthony!

Critter Country, including The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, has temporarily closed to make way for new retail shops and continue work on Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Disney did not share a reopening date, but we'll be sure to include it once confirmed. This post gets updated weekly, so hop back to stay up to date.

Hi Jacob!

If it's not part of an announcement, Disney does not usually disclose exact reasoning for refurbs, so we don't know why it's closing again for a second time in April. Right now, as of writing, the calendar goes out as far as April 16 and it's still listed as a refurb up to that point. We will continue to keep an eye on it and update once we know a reopening date. (We would hope it's before Pixar Fest starts April 26 - which, if we had to guess, could be a potential reason behind its closure, though nothing has been confirmed.) In general, our refurbs post gets updated weekly, so stay tuned!
