Delivery Issue

I ordered two bamboo fences from Praxis to be delivered by Intergard, both 2x5 meters in size. We received one of them, and was told by the delivery person than the other one would be delivered the following day. With this, he asked for a digital signature for the delivery. Several days pass and we still don’t receive the second bamboo fence. I called Intergard about this and when they checked, they said that both bamboo fences were delivered. They said that the delivery person also confirms this, and since the delivery document was signed, that it must have been delivered. Case closed. And still, we do not have half of our delivery.

We would not have called if we indeed received both fences. After several conversations with Intergard and trying to find a solution, they insisted that nothing could be done. So we just lost our purchase for no reason, and will have to buy one again. The unfortunate part is after trying to understand how this can be, the manager told us that the situation is “bullsh*t” and hung up on our call.

It’s the first time we experienced this, and we were basically told we had no other choice. It is a pity to lose trust in a company and we surely will take note of the manner in which our concerns were treated.

Het spijt ons te lezen dat u de afhandeling van uw melding als teleurstellend heeft ervaren.

Naar aanleiding van uw melding hebben wij de levering meerdere malen onderzocht en hierover herhaaldelijk contact opgenomen met de transporteur. De transporteur heeft bevestigd dat beide bestelde bamboematten zijn afgeleverd. Ook is de chauffeur opnieuw gehoord, zijn er geen afwijkingen of manco's geregistreerd en is de levering voor ontvangst afgetekend. Op basis van deze informatie hebben wij helaas geen aanwijzingen kunnen
vinden dat de levering onvolledig is geweest.

Wij willen daarnaast graag één punt verduidelijken. In uw review geeft u aan dat een manager van Intergard het gesprek met u op een ongepaste manier heeft beëindigd. Dat herkennen wij niet. Tijdens de afhandeling van uw melding hebben wij u steeds zo correct mogelijk te woord gestaan. Het telefoongesprek waar u naar verwijst heeft niet met Intergard plaatsgevonden, maar met de transporteur.

Wij begrijpen dat de uitkomst voor u teleurstellend is, maar wij hebben uw melding zorgvuldig onderzocht en konden op basis van de beschikbare informatie geen andere conclusie trekken.

Incomplete refund received for an international order that Intergard cancelled as they could not fulfil delivery

I ordered a stainless steel embankment slide from Intergard, for delivery from the Netherlands to the UK. They clearly advertised delivery to the UK and the shipping costs updated as expected. I paid for the item and delivery. I was contacted by Intergard a week later to advise they did not in fact have a delivery option to the UK and could I collect the item myself from the Netherlands (this is a 4+ meter stainless steel slide that must weight several hundred kilograms: no I can't collect it). They then offered a credit, followed after some email exchange by a refund. Intergard did then refund me. However, the high value of the item, a difference in exchange rates and currency exchange fees applied both ways left me £142 down at my end, and with nothing to show for it other than wasted hours of time and energy my end. Intergard argued that the transaction fees are outside of their control and that they have refunded what they received (which I agree is true). However, they falsely advertised an ability to deliver to the UK, reneged on this contract and have then passed on the costs incurred as a result of their error to the customer. I believe they are in breach of both UK and EU consumer law here so am pursuing it out of principle.

I would recommend caution in purchasing from Intergard from abroad.

In fairness to them, their customer services team have been responsive, polite, and in more recent email exchanges helpfully clear on their stance.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused regarding the delivery of the stainless steel embankment slide to the UK. Unfortunately, due to the exceptional dimensions and transport requirements of this specific product, we were ultimately unable to secure suitable shipment through our carriers after the order had been placed. We understand this was both disappointing and frustrating, especially given the international payment and currency conversion costs involved.

As discussed in our correspondence, we issued a full refund of the amount received by Intergard immediately after cancellation. While bank and currency exchange fees are determined by external financial institutions and unfortunately fall outside our control, we do understand your disappointment that these costs were incurred as a result of the failed transaction.

We are currently reviewing our international shipping settings and product-specific delivery limitations to help prevent similar situations in the future and improve clarity for customers ordering from abroad.

We appreciate your feedback, your patience during the communication process, and the constructive manner in which this matter was discussed with our team.

Rotten posts in not even two years !

I purchased 35 wood posts from Intergard in September 2020. They are described as being of excellent quality and very long lasting chestnut. However, in February 2022, four poles were broken because they were eaten away by humidity. In January 2023, about twenty posts had rotted away in the ground. My fence has half fallen to the ground. Mushrooms have even grown on parts that are not in contact with the ground. The chestnut tree is very resistant to rot thanks to its hardness and its tannin. After two years, I have to change all the poles because those which remain are rotting. This is not normal. The durability of this wood is at least 10 years and more like 15 years. Do not buy this product from Intergard. They say that the poles do not support moisture. So why sell these poles? The quality is not there. Look for it at the farmers' stores.
