Find Your New Favourite Gin
A bottle of gin is one of the easiest things to get right and it works for a quick drink at home. It also holds up in cocktails, and is still one of the safest options when you need a gift that will actually get used. You can keep it simple with a classic serve, or if you start paying attention to flavour, you quickly realise that not all gin tastes the same.

Gin FAQs
How to make gin?
You can easily make your own gin at home using vodka!
The technical name for this is ‘compound gin’. It’s also sometimes called ‘bathtub gin’, which comes from the illegal batches of homemade gin that were often made in bathtubs during American Prohibition in the 1920s.

What is gin made from?
Gin is usually made from a base of grain, such as wheat or barley, which is first fermented and then distilled.
Juniper berries and other herbs, plants and spices (known as aromatics, or botanicals) are added to the fermented grain mixture along with water until the alcohol level and balance of flavours meet the required (or desired) levels.

How to make pink gin cocktails?
A pink gin cocktail will contain pink gin as the base of the drink, whereas a pink cocktail may contain classic gin. A pink cocktail may owe it’s pretty colour to another ingredient in the tipple that’s not the gin - such as a cocktail syrup, garnish, liqueur or mixer. We have cocktail recipes below that tick both boxes!
If you are looking for an easy pink gin cocktail, a pink gin and prosecco cocktail, or fruity pink gin cocktail, then take a look at these blushing beauties ! Even better? They taste as gorgeous as they look!
What is London dry gin?
The term “London dry” actually refers to a method of distilling gin. When London dry gin appears on the label of a bottle, it means a particular process was used to make the gin inside. A gin can only be labelled as “London dry gin” if it is created to very specific guidelines that were laid out in EU law in February 2008. For a gin to be called “London dry” it must be created to these specifications. Find out more about specifications here.
How is gin actually different from vodka?
In fact, the predominant flavour in gin must be juniper berries, otherwise the drink can’t be defined as gin, by law. Vodka is legally defined as a neutral spirit without any distinctive character, aroma, taste, or colour. It is distilled to be as pure and flavourless as possible.
