Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to and use of ScrollLaunch. Read them carefully - by using the Service, you agree to be bound by them.
Effective October 2, 2026Last updated October 2, 2026
01Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using ScrollLaunch (www.scrolllaunch.com) (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by ScrollLaunch ("we", "us", "our"). You must be at least 13 years old and capable of entering a binding contract in your jurisdiction to create an account.
02Accounts & authentication
Accounts are created through third-party identity providers (Google OAuth via NextAuth). You are responsible for safeguarding the provider account you use to sign in and for all activity under your ScrollLaunch account.
- One person or legal entity may maintain an account.
- Provide accurate information (display name, maker profile, product details).
- Notify us at kalash@scrolllaunch.com of any unauthorised use.
03Product submissions & maker content
You ("Maker") may submit products, logos, taglines, descriptions, screenshots, and related content, and you (and other signed-in users) may post comments, nested replies, and product reviews on product pages (together, "Maker Content") to be listed, ranked, discussed, reviewed, and featured on the Service.
You retain ownership of your Maker Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, reformat, display, distribute, cache, index, summarise, and create derivative works (including text/markdown representations) of your Maker Content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and marketing the Service - including featuring your product on the homepage, archive, product page, sitemaps, feeds, AI-generated blog posts (when enabled by you), and social channels.
You acknowledge that public Maker Content - including product listings, comments, and published reviews shown on product pages - is intentionally crawlable and may be ingested by third-party search engines, AI crawlers, and content aggregators.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to grant this licence and that your Maker Content does not infringe any third-party rights.
05Product reviews
Signed-in users may publish one star rating and written review per live product at /products/[slug]/reviews, after visiting that product's website. Reviews are public Maker Content associated with your display name and profile image. The account that submitted the product cannot review it.
- No links. Reviews may not contain URLs, website addresses, or markdown/hyperlink markup. We reject submissions that include them.
- Honest, first-hand takes only. Do not post fake, incentivised, copy-pasted, or bulk reviews; do not review your own listing from another account; do not coordinate ratings to inflate or tank a score.
- We may hide or delete a review and purge the posting account under Acceptable use and Termination. Hidden reviews are dropped from the public average and from structured data.
06Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to permit others to:
- Submit products that are illegal, fraudulent, or misleading.
- Submit content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or self-harm.
- Submit malware, phishing pages, cryptocurrency scams, or any product whose primary purpose is to deceive users.
- Artificially inflate upvotes, views, or engagement - via bots, scripts, automation, upvote rings, paid or incentivised voting, vote-exchange schemes, or any coordinated manipulation. Each upvote must come from a distinct, genuine human who actually visited the product.
- Create fake, duplicate, throwaway, or disposable-email accounts (including temporary / "temp mail" services), or register multiple accounts, to vote on, comment on, promote, or otherwise manipulate any listing - including your own.
- Spam the discussion - including posting links/URLs in comments or reviews, bulk or copy-pasted promotional comments or reviews, soliciting rival directories or paid placements in comments or reviews, or coordinating fake engagement including fake star ratings.
- Scrape, crawl, or mirror the Service except as permitted by our robots.txt, or bypass rate limits and authentication.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
- Impersonate another person, company, or product.
We reserve the right to remove any listing, comment, or review, suspend or permanently purge any account, and refuse service - with or without prior notice - if we believe these Terms have been violated. In particular, if we detect fake upvotes, disposable / temporary-email signups used for voting or promotion, comment or review spam or link farming, or other manipulation, we may, at our sole discretion and without refund: reset affected upvote counts; hide or delete reviews; remove products and comments; revoke any backlink, badge, or featured placement; and delete the associated account together with related data (including products, comments and nested replies, reviews, votes, visits, notifications, and sessions). Where practical we may email the account address with a short reason. Determinations of abuse are made at our reasonable discretion.
07Paid features & billing
Some features are paid: Premium Listing (which includes a one-time launch blog about your product), Advertising placements (Right Sidebar Ad, Product Center Ad), and Newsletter sponsorship (weekly sponsor or dedicated Substack article).
- All prices are in U.S. dollars and shown on /pricing and /advertise. Newsletter kits and checkout are on /newsletter.
- Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. By purchasing a paid feature you also agree to their terms and privacy notices.
- From the product editor you can pay for Premium, advertising, directory submission, and newsletter sponsorship in one checkout. That is a single charge. Each item still follows its own delivery and refund rules below. A refund of that charge reverses every item in the same checkout.
- Premium is a one-time, per-product purchase (not a subscription). It is non-transferable between products without our written consent.
- Advertising placements run for booked ISO weeks and are not auto-renewed. On a free listing, a live ScrollLaunch badge is required for the slot to render; Premium listings always run. A paused slot because the badge was removed is not a refund - restore the badge to resume the placement. Cancel unused future weeks under the refund policy.
- Newsletter sponsorship is a one-time purchase: weekly sponsor is a specific Monday issue; dedicated article is a specific publish date (any day, soonest 7 days out). Sold on /newsletter.
- Taxes (GST, VAT, sales tax) may be added at checkout depending on your jurisdiction.
- See /refund-policy for our cancellation and refund policy.
08Launch blog
Premium includes one launch blog post, generated automatically from your product details and live website using third-party models (e.g. OpenAI) when the listing is live and launch week has started.
- We generate the blog post exactly once per product. Once published, it is a permanent SEO asset on our blog.
- You are responsible for reviewing the generated content and ensuring it is accurate and that you have the rights to any third-party material referenced.
- We do not guarantee uniqueness, factual accuracy, or search-engine performance of generated content.
- We reserve the right to unpublish generated posts that violate these Terms.
09Intellectual property
The Service - including the ScrollLaunch brand, logo, design, code, editorial content, and curated directory structure - is owned by ScrollLaunch and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service, other than the limited right to use it as permitted here.
Embeddable "Featured on ScrollLaunch" badges are licensed for use by the featured Maker on their own marketing surfaces, provided the linked URL and badge artwork are not modified.
10Backlinks & SEO
For each live product, the canonical outbound surface is the product detail page (/products/[slug]). Premium listings pass a dofollow link from that page. Free listings pass a dofollow link only while a ScrollLaunch badge (or a link to that product page) remains on the maker's website; we re-check periodically and switch the link to nofollow if the badge is missing. Homepage ads and newsletter / X shoutouts on a free listing pause until the badge is restored. The listing stays live either way. Discovery surfaces (homepage feed, archive, and similar) may link to the same maker website with nofollow so link equity is concentrated on that page. Additional dofollow links may appear only where you purchase them (e.g. Premium launch blog posts and paid advertising placements), as described on /pricing.
We do not guarantee any specific Domain Rating (DR), crawl frequency, indexing outcome, referral traffic, or SEO effect. Third-party indexes (Ahrefs, Semrush, Majestic, Moz, Google) control when and how backlinks are counted. Comments must not be used to plant outbound links - see Comments & discussion.
We reserve the right to remove, nofollow, or deindex listings that violate these Terms, are part of link schemes, or otherwise put the Service at risk.
11Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings (or by emailing kalash@scrolllaunch.com). Account deletion removes your account credentials and associated personal data we control, including your products, comments, reviews, votes, notifications, and sessions, subject to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or permanently purge your account immediately, without refund, if you materially breach these Terms, abuse the Service (including upvote manipulation or comment spam), charge back paid features, or expose us to legal risk. A purge may delete the same categories of data as a self-serve deletion. Where practical we will email a short reason to the address on the account.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law, and any licence needed to keep already-published third-party citations lawful) will survive.
12Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or that any content submitted by Makers is accurate.
13Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScrollLaunch and its author(s) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.
14Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScrollLaunch, its author(s), and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your Maker Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
15Affiliate / partner program
ScrollLaunch operates an optional affiliate / partner program described on /affiliates. Tracking, applications, and payouts are handled by Affonso at scrolllaunch.affonso.io. By applying or participating you also accept that provider's partner terms in their portal.
- Approval: participation is by invitation or application. We may accept, reject, suspend, or terminate partners at our sole discretion, including for spam, brand bidding, cookie stuffing, self-referral, or misleading promotion.
- Commission: approved partners earn 30% one-time commission on attributed Dodo Payments checkouts for Premium, advertising placements, directory submission plans, and newsletter sponsorship. Free launches pay no commission.
- Cookie window: attribution uses a first-party affonso_referral cookie lasting 30 days when a visitor arrives via a partner link (query param atp). Details are in the Cookie Policy.
- Refunds & chargebacks: commissions on refunded or charged-back purchases are voided or reversed. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Independent contractors: partners are not employees or agents of ScrollLaunch. Partners are responsible for their own taxes on commissions received.
- No guarantees: we do not guarantee approval, click volume, conversion rate, or payout timing beyond what Affonso shows in the partner dashboard.
16Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties to function. Your use of the Service is also subject to their terms:
- Hosting: Vercel Inc.
- Database: MongoDB Atlas
- Media: Cloudinary
- Payments: Dodo Payments
- Affiliate attribution: Affonso (partner program tracking and payouts; see /affiliates)
- Analytics: Datafa.st and Ahrefs Web Analytics (cookie-free), and Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC)

17Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practical, notify registered users by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Rajasthan, India to resolve any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service, except where prohibited by applicable consumer-protection law.
