Assess the facts and your assumptions.

Acknowledge that you are part of the problem.

Identify a range of positive outcomes.

Develop a strategy not script.

What NOT to do
Don’t fall into combat mentality.

Don’t beat around the bush.

Don’t be disrespectful.

Don’t loose sight of the goal.

Don’t pretend to know how they feel.

Don’t use excuses as your shield.
