RULES AND REGULATION
CONTEST CELEBRATIONS & VISTA OF ENGLISH SKILLS TRIUMPH AND
ACHIEVEMENT (CONTESTAVISTA)
1ST RANK COMPETITION
PREFACE
The 1st Rank game is a competition where participants are tested on their knowledge and
understanding of various topics, including history, science, culture, and other important issues.
Participants will answer questions quickly and precisely to reach the top rank. The 1st Rank
competition has rules and regulations that must be followed by the participants, such as no
cheating, following the host's instructions, and so on. The 1st Rank competition can also be
organized in a certain time or strung together into several rounds.
RELEVANT DATE
1. Registration : Tuesday, January 8th 2024
2. Close Registration : Saturday, January 20th 2024
3. Technical Meeting : Sunday, January 28th 2024
4. Opening Ceremony : Wednesday, February 3rd 2024
5. Competition : Saturday – Sunday, February 3rd – 4th 2024
6. Closing Ceremony : Sunday, February 4th 2024
GENERAL RULES
1. Every participant in this competition must be a Senior High school Student.
2. The committee of Contest Celebrations & Vista Of English Skills Triumph And
Achievement (Contestavista) will not provide any refund for those who are disqualified
or quit for any reason.
3. The participants who have been registered online can be replaced with a new participant
before the technical meeting.
4. After a technical meeting, replacement of participants is not allowed and will result in
disqualification.
5. The committee will provide a WhatsApp group link for further information. Hence,
please ensure the participants join WhatsApp group link after submitting the registration
form.
6. Every rule must be followed. Disqualification for any participant who violates the rule
will be under the discretion of the committee to decide unilaterally.
7. The certificate of participation for every participant will be available on google drive in

the form of an e-certificate. The committee will ONLY create the certificate for the
participants whose names are on the attendance list of the closing ceremony.
8. The participants who have been registered online can be replaced with a new participant
before Close registration by sending the request of replacement to the replacement link

9. The maximum number of participants is 100 (one hundred) participants.
TECHNICAL MEETING
1. Every participant or representative MUST attend the Technical Meeting on Sunday,
January 28th 2024 via Google Meet. Link of the Google Meet will be sent to the
participant Whatsapp group chat.
2. The Technical Meeting will be the platform for discussion about the rules to wich the
competition will be based upon.
3. The committee holds the ultimate control towards deciding whether a rule needs to be a
changed or not.

5. Results of the Technical Meeting are considered accepted and legitimate by the
participants and no objection later will be accepted by the committee
6. The participant and/or representative who are not able to attend the Technical Meeting
due to personal emergencies or for any reason will be considered in favor with all the
results of the Technical Meeting’s discussion, no objection will be accepted by the
committee
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to compete, competing individual must:
1. Be enrolled in Senior High School in Samarinda by showing the committee a Student
Identity Card at the time of registration;
2. Participants are allowed to register as long as they have not graduated during the
registration period;
3. Have completed the payment of the registration fee and was successfully registered as a
participant;
4. Take note of all relevant dates regarding the competition;
5. Maintain eligibility at all rounds of the competition. The participant will be disqualified

if discovered to ineligible compete in any round; and
6. Each participant must be present to compete and cannot be represented by anything else
other than themselves.
DRESS CODE
1. The participants must keep his/her appearance neat and clean;
2. Participants are required to wear neat clothes unless stated otherwise in the specific rules
and regulations for every competition and/or explained and allowed by the committee.
3. The participants must wear a badge provided by the committee.
RULES DURING THE COMPETITION
1. The competition will be held at Samarinda State Polytechnic.
2. The theme of the 1st Rank competition question is “General knowledge”.
3. The competition will consist of 2 (two) preliminary rounds and a final round.
4. If a participant is caught cheating, the committee has the right to decide unilaterally to
disqualify the participant from the competition.
5. During the competition, registered participants cannot be represented by others,
otherwise they will be disqualified.
6. All participants must respect any decision of the supervisor.
7. The decision of the supervisor is final and no correspondence relating to the decision
process will be reconsidered.
8. When a participant makes a mistake while performing, the organizers do not compromise
and/or allow a pause in duration or provide a repeat for the participant.
9. Each participant must be present on time, at least 15 (fifteen) minutes before the
competition starts. We will not compromise on lateness. If a participant arrives late, the
committee will decide unilaterally to disqualify the participant from the competition.
SPECIFIC RULES
PRELIMINARY ROUNDS
A. Preliminary Round I
1. Each participant will be given true or false questions until 25% of the initial number
of participants remain.
2. If 25% of the participants remain, then proceed to the second round.
3. Students are given stationery by the committee.
4. Answers are written on the stationery that has been provided.

5. Time to answer is 10 seconds after the question is read out.
6. MC only reads the question twice.
7. After that, participants are allowed to raise the answers that have been written.
8. The committee will look at all the answers.
9. It is forbidden to delete / change the answer before being instructed by the host.
10. Answer writing must be clear or legible.
11. For those who are wrong in answering immediately leave the game arena.
12. Participants are prohibited from working together, if it is known to work together it
will be disqualified.
13. Spectators are prohibited from telling the answers to the participants of the
competition.
14. The decision of the jury is absolute and inviolable.
B. Preliminary Round II
1. Participants will be given an essay question, and participants will write their answers
on the stationery provided, until 3 participants remain.
2. If all participants answer incorrectly when determining the 3 participants who enter
the final, additional questions will be given.
3. If there is 1 or 2 participants who answer correctly, then that participant will wait to
get a challenger by asking additional questions to get 1 challenger.
4. Time to answer is 10 seconds after the question is read.
5. MC only reads the question twice.
6. After that, the participant is allowed to raise the written answer.
7. The committee will look at all the answers.
8. It is forbidden to delete/change the answers before being instructed by the MC.

10. Those who are wrong in answering immediately leave the game arena.

C. Final Round
1. The remaining participants will answer 10 questions in a scramble and the winner will
be determined by the number of correct answers.
2. Participants will hompimpa and the winner gets to choose the category of the question,
hompimpa is done every time entering the next question.
3. Then the question will be read out and the participants will scramble take the item to
answer the question.
4. The participant who takes the item first has the right to answer the question first with
a time of 10 seconds starting after the participant takes the item.
5. If the answer is wrong or unable to answer, other participants will scramble to answer
the question.
6. If the number of answers from the three participants is the same, then the participant
will be given one determination question.
7. If the three participants cannot answer the 10 questions given by the MC, then 1
decisive question will be given.
