Research Methodology in PR2 Chapter 3

The research methodology included a descriptive and quantitative correlational study using questionnaires to gather data from 30 grade 11 and 12 technical drafting students at City of Balanga National High School. The questionnaires were validated by teachers and revised based on their feedback. Statistical analysis of the data collected included calculating frequencies and percentages to summarize respondents' answers.

CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The research methodology were consist of the Research design, Respondents of the study, Locale,
and Population, Research Instrument, Data gathering procedures and Statistical Treatment.

Research Design

The descriptive and quantitative methods of research were used in the study, as well as
correlational study.

The quantitative method is also known as empirical research and is a type of inquiry were
relations are establish through collection of numerical data which will be analyzed to derived generation
experiment. It is a systematic analysis of data and relationship.

The descriptive method of research was used, stating the facts obtained from the questionnaire,
which was one of the systematics ways of asking questions under specific control. Through these
questionnaires, the respondents will express their perception regarding the Comparative Analysis of
Traditional and New Normal Mode of Learning in Developing Skills of Technical Drafting Students in
City of Balanga National High SHS in Technical Drafting. It was designed for the researchers to gather
information about present existing conditions.
Respondents of the Study

There are 30 respondents will be answering from the locale of the study regarding the study “New
Normal Education and It’s Relationship to Developing Skills of Technical Drafting Students”. The
respondents of the study will be coming from the grade 11 and 12 students of City of Balanga National
Highschool.

Locale of the Study

The City of Balanga National High School was built through the ideas of many educators’
stakeholders and Local Land of Balanga to give education to the youth. The inspirational and ideas came
from Albert S. Garcia the old Alkalde of Balanga.

This dream was not that easy to reach, to be able to continue the City High School though its
Basic Curriculum of Secondary School can be. Changing the administration of City was not hindrance to
achieve their goals. This dream was supported by Sir Melanio S. Banzon.

On October 23, 2009, the Department Education-Region 3 approved the separation and
secondary education of the Elementary School due to the continuing increase of its population. With an
International Ordinance, the Balanga integrated School was renamed the City of Balanga National High
School (COBNHS) under Dr. Alma V. Poblete as the first Head Master with the help of Mr. Jessie D.
Ferrer, temporary Supervisor and Mrs. Flora M. Villanueva, Division Administration Officer.

The population of the locale of the study in Senior High School is 394, but the respondents of
the study of composed of 30 which are randomly selected from Senior High School Students under TD
strand.
Instrument of the Study

1. Questionnaires

The survey questionnaires was used as the main data gathering instruments for the study and was
instructed using Dichotomous answerable by Yes or No.

This was formulated through the statement of the problem as the basis. The questionnaires was
divided into two section: profile of the respondents and the survey proper. The profile contains socio
demographic characteristic of the respondents name, age and gender.

2 parts of Questionnaires

a) Profile of the Respondents- it is the General Data of the Respondents.

b) Survey Profile- it involves the questions that are going to answer by the respondents.

2. Structured Observation

This method provides active participation of the researchers in the conduct of the researcher. The
instrument is called observation guide or survey. While the respondents is taking the question or upon the
interview, the researcher is free to gain information which is relatively related to the study being
conducted.
Established of Validity and Reliability

In order to test the questionnaires used for the study, the researcher asked help to their teacher.
The researchers showed sample questions to the teacher. After the questions have been checked, the
researcher asked their teacher for any suggested or necessary corrections to ensure further improvement
and validity of the instrument.

The researcher revised the survey questionnaires based on the suggestion of the respondents. The
researcher then excluded irrelevant questions and vague or difficult terminologies into simpler in order to
ensure comprehension.

Statistical Treatment of Data

The data will be gathered from the questionnaire. From the result, the researchers will record,
analyze and interpret the data. The researcher used the following statistical tools for the interpretation and
analysis of data that data that was gathered in the survey.

1. All data gathered were presented in a tabular from using a simple statistical tools in analyzing of
data. The frequency and percentage were arriving by applying the formula below:

P=F/Nx100
Where:
P= resulting change
F= frequency
N= total number of respondents
