Starter (2 mins): Teacher shows two different phones to students and ask whether they can
identify the two phones and their functions.
- What if I write a novel in these phones? (stingray)
Pre reading:
(15 mins)
-Teacher draws attention to the picture on page 21 and elicit response from the students.

 What is the girl doing in the picture? Where does she come from?
 Do you have a handphone? How much time do you spend on it every day?
 What application that you can use which enables you to write a long text and
publish it?
ACTIVITIES -Teacher assign pairs. (differentiated learning)
-Each pair is given two envelopes that are labelled A and B. The A envelope contains seven
words. The B envelope contains the meaning to the word in A. Each student will decide a
role (A or B) and match the word to its meaning. Students blu-tack their answer on a mini
white board.
-The pairs will compare answers with at least three other pairs. (peer assessment)
-Teacher-led class discussion of answers.
-Teacher checks if students understand the words. (quick scan)
While reading:
(25 minutes)
Activity A
-Teacher plays an audio of the reading text while students follow closely with the reading
text.
-The students answer the YES and NO questions while listening to the audio.
-With a partner, they will compare their answers (peer assessment)
-Teacher will play the audio again for students to check their answers (self assessment)
-Teacher hinges questions of the statement and elicits where they find the answers in the
text.
- Students rewrite the false statement and change them to true statement
Activity B
-Students read the article again in silent.
-Students goes through the question and answers the questions independently.
-Students share the answer with a partner. (think-pair-share)
-Teacher led discussion of the answers.
Post reading:
(15 minutes)
-Teacher elicits structure of giving opinions and justification from students in a brace map
-In pairs, students share their opinion of whether they would like to read mobile phone novel
using the given structure. Students will also justify their answer on a mini white board.
-Teacher takes out her lollipop sticks and randomly picks five pupils to share with the class.
-Teacher gives feedback (medal and missions)
Plenary:
