Wind and Ventilation Turbine Generator Study

This study examines the design of a Wind and Ventilation Turbine (WVT) generator to provide a more accessible renewable energy source alternative to fossil fuels. The United States currently generates most of its energy from fossil fuels, which are in limited supply and contaminate the environment when burned. The purpose of the study is to create a small-scale turbine system that homeowners can install to generate their own electricity without relying on power plants. The significance is that it allows rural communities without grid access to obtain electricity without the high cost of extending power lines to their locations.

Title of Study WIND AND VENTILATION TURBINE (WVT) GENERATOR

Author/s Anthony Lloyd and Jacob Michener

Source Journal publication: June 2014

Date Retrieved:
Overview of the study  The U.S energy Information Association ( EIA ) defines fossil fuels
as an energy source formed in the Earth's Crust from decayed
organic material .The common fossil fuels are petroleum, coal, and
natural gas..
 In 2012 the United States generated 68 % of its energy from fossil
fuel, while less than 12.5% was generated from clean energy sources.
 Wind technology only generated one quarter that energy, 3.5%of the
total energy

problem statement  Burning fossil fuels and nuclear rods on this level contaminates the
atmosphere with detrimental gases and pollutants and fills the land
with radioactive waste. Then as the use of fossil fuels is continually
rising however fossil fuels have a limited supply and their
availability is decreasing at the same rate they are used in order to
produced energy.
Purpose of the Study  The purpose of the study is to create more compact and accesible
other source of renewable energy source except of the fossil fuels.
Objectives of the • To be able to designed that allow the costumers to replaced their
Study existing turbine with the upgraded, energy generating system.
• To be able to show that by making use of the small areas of wasted
energy in the world, a large supply can be gathered.

Significance of study  allows rural communities , with no distribution access from near- by
scale power plants, to have electricity without the costly process of
bringing power out to them.
assumption and  This project focus only supplies a small amount of energy on the
limitations household by producing its own electricity needs on its own land
