1.1 Background
KNIT conducted Motorbike Repaire and Maintenances Training at KNIT from 2071/02/04 to
2072/05/04. Three months (390 hours) course was conducted for local community around the
KNIT.

This 390 hours training was conducted by Automobile Department of KNIT and altogether 18
participants successfully completed the training.

1.2 Purpose of the Training


The purpose of this training was to provide skill base motorbike repairer and maintenances who
are literate, above 16 year old and Nepalese citizenship.

1.3 Goals of the Training


At the end of this training, Participants will able to:

Identify motorbike parts and components.


Servicing the motorbike.
Repair and maintenance of chassis and Suspension system.
Repair and maintenance of brake and Control system.
Repair and maintenance of fuel supply system.
Repair and maintenance of transmission system.
Repair and maintenance of lubrication and cooling system.
Repair and maintenance of four stroke engine.
Repair and maintenance of lighting and signaling system.
Repair and maintenance of charging and starting system.
Repair and maintenance of ignition system.
2. Methodology
2.1 Teaching Learning Strategies
It is a known that adults learn best in an informal, fun filled and mutually respectful
environment. Adults learn best when the learning situation is based on experience sharing
and learning by doing approach. Keeping this in mind, this training was conducted in a non
judgmental, friendly and energizing environment. The methods and media were also
selected considering adult learning principles and strategies. The classroom activities were
supported by various media such as multimedia projector, white board and real objects.
Various instructional methods such as illustrated talk, oral questions and problem were
employed to make this training more effective. Active learners definitely learn more than
the passive ones, so all the participants were encouraged to participate actively.

3. Training Outcome
3.1 Participants Performance
The overall performance of the participants was very satisfactory. In our observation,
mostly participants were active and enthusiastic in learning activities but some participants
were not regular. Almost participants completed all the tasks according to KNIT criteria. 18
off them completed the training.
3.2 Training Evaluation
Final course evaluation was conducted to collect feedback about the overall training,
objectives, instructional resources, methodology, media, evaluation and facilities. As per
the final course evaluation conducted by participants, it can be concluded that the training
was successful and the participants liked it and found it very effective for them. However,
as pointed out by the participants, there are a issues where we need to improve to make this
training more effective and fruitful in the future. In the addition to that, there are a few
constructive points of feedback and suggestions, which the participants will positively
consider to future improvement.

4. Conclusion and Recommendations


4.1 Conclusion
This 390 hours training was completed successful. 18 participants completed the training
fulfilling the requirements and criteria. The training was conducted in totally adult learning
environment. There was a friendly learning environment for the participants during the
training. This training equipped the community people who want to involve and repair
motorbike with necessary skills and knowledge. From this training, it can be further
concluded that:-

Mostly participants were very positive, enthusiastic, disciplined and always had
patience for learning regardless of their busy family responsibility.
As a result of training approaches and strategies used in this training, we hope that
the knowledge and skills gained in the in the training will bring positive changes to
participants.
At the end of this training 15 participants participate motorcycle service
mechanics L 1 conducted by National Skill Testing Board (NSTB)
4.2 Recommendations
To make training better and more effective in the future, some recommendations have been
listed below. These recommendations also included some key suggestions by the
participants.

Training should be organized before and after office hours.


Entry criteria should be revised.
Revise regular training remunerations.
Provide course coordinator allowances.
Provide electricity during training time.
