1) this is not a bug report. this would better be addressed on the
pg-general email list

2) 9.1.9 is very obsolete, the current 9.1 release is 9.1.22

3) "linux" is a kernel which is used in many operating system
distributions, each of which has different quirks and ways of doing
things. you'll need to be a lot more specific.

may well have more inputs than I.
